Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Hickinbotham Build Northern Adelaide 81Jul 22, 2017 1:08 am Yes true, and ppl are not perfect but we do get that 25yr structure garuntee that backs them and i guess if we take the amount of homes build and the amount of negative reviews they still are doing pretty good! If i do get inspections will only be for out peace of mind cause we know nothing about building! And probably just for footings, frame, handover/prehandover. Not sure will still be extra $$$ that might not be needed. Will definitely depend on the type our financer does. Probably wirth asking about it in detail:) Re: Hickinbotham Build Northern Adelaide 84Jul 22, 2017 6:09 pm decided today i would only get my driveway concreted. The rest will be done in pavers. Much easier if i have issues with sewer or stormwater pipes etc had a nice chat with someone at the Australian paving center re diy and getting someone in so will see what i decide to do after talking to the people that would end up helping me lay pavers and seeing how much it will cost to have them done properly as well. can get a nice solid flagpave or strada pavers for under 26m2 plus the other costs of course. have another landscaping company providing me a quote on combined concrete/paving/stormwater as well - also asked them to provide fencing quotes Re: Hickinbotham Build Northern Adelaide 85Jul 22, 2017 6:13 pm Thats good, we have pavers for driveway and round the house think its. Around 7k for it but better with draining and other things house we are renting now has concrete but its lefting and shifting and cracking , pavers looks much better i think Re: Hickinbotham Build Northern Adelaide 88Jul 22, 2017 6:31 pm so you have hickies doing your stormwater as well then? realising when they suggested i do it myself afterwards as i will get ti cheaper. would have been far easier to get it included and less hassle Re: Hickinbotham Build Northern Adelaide 90Jul 23, 2017 6:33 pm smart thinking. that's the one thing i would change now if i could and will keep in mind if i ever end up building again for some reason hoping to have some more quotes this week so i shortlist them Re: Hickinbotham Build Northern Adelaide 91Jul 23, 2017 7:18 pm I love the look of pavers - hadn't thought about the ease of being able to get them up and to access what is underneath. Dh wants concrete - going to be a concrete jungle!! His thinking is that it stops moisture getting underneath, weeds can't grow in it and easier to sweep. Re: Hickinbotham Build Northern Adelaide 92Jul 23, 2017 7:40 pm My only sorry is i have to put up a gate between house and fence! No idea how since there will be pavers hickies didnt wNt to do it cause there allreDy is a fence 😩 No idea where to get one or whom to get to install in. The area size is round 1 m wide on anothe note we went snd looked at a biger size of the flooring we will get and im actually now feeling more at eaze with it. I actually was second guessing how actual sheets will look after just sawing the initial smAll piece at selections and then seeing your flooring i was wondering if mine had extra colours or just what we saw on the piece. Photo is of the sheet we saw today Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Hickinbotham Build Northern Adelaide 93Jul 23, 2017 7:46 pm lovisa My only sorry is i have to put up a gate between house and fence! We are definitely going to try and stick to standard as much as possible and upgrade down the track (if we can afford to). I read somewhere on here that it is cheaper to get standard taps for example and then upgrade after as it is cheaper to go that way that upgrade through the builder. We'll only go over (I hope) for things that aren't easy to change such as bricks, ceiling heights etc Re: Hickinbotham Build Northern Adelaide 98Jul 24, 2017 3:20 pm that's it - don't need to look at LMI and kids get the new beds they wanted instead of a cheaper substitute. that's how i approached it. electrical, plumbing, cabling, structural etc done now and rest later only splurge i made was upgrading the tapware in the ensuite - justified that as better for the tiling etc to do it during construction. but main bathroom is all default selections. Also got builder to do the built in robes but that gave me nib walls to use which look nicer i think Re: Hickinbotham Build Northern Adelaide 99Jul 24, 2017 3:23 pm We are getting a nib wall and hampers for the bir and then going to look external for getting the robes made - might be worth the question as i think for same price, we can get more than just a rail in the bir Re: Hickinbotham Build Northern Adelaide 100Jul 24, 2017 3:53 pm Nawsome We are getting a nib wall and hampers for the bir and then going to look external for getting the robes made. agree and something i should have done. but didnt think about it till after selections. Would probably have been far better value but 1600 for 2 nib walls and built in robes sounded like good value to me back then - of course then have to add another 660 for upgraded shelves and drawers. Hi, I'll be starting on my verandah repair soon - replace ledger, rafters, roofing iron, flashing etc. (fascia board already done). My question is about the timber ledger… 0 3533 1 3210 hey nedket, We have a similar lot like yours . just wondering how is it going with your DA application, is the Blue line is the correct solution (offset the rear boundary… 1 9372 |
