Bricks and plastering to be started Wednesday next week Re: Coral Homes - Modified Longreach 33 in QLD 47Apr 22, 2017 12:30 am Oohhwwww you have photos . Glad to see those bricks onsite, makes the house feel real. Ohh that's a big ducted system, is it daiken or Fujitsu? Awesome to see the front door and windows in too. Those batts are a really good idea, we are thinking about putting them between a bedroom and the theatre. Wow is a huge open space for the living. That's a awesome week of progress and even better bricks and gyprock will be happening next week. God you will be done before I start Re: Coral Homes - Modified Longreach 33 in QLD 48Apr 22, 2017 1:14 am Yeah, all starting to look like a house now.
It's a 3 phase 20kw Daiken system, the electric bills will be interesting in summer, going to look into solar. The protective tape has been left on the windows so can't get a good look at them yet. The batts should cut out some noise between the theatre room and family area, the spaces are looking good, can't wait for the plasterboard to go up to give a real good idea of room sizes, will have to be in there over the weekend to drill some holes in noggins for speaker cable etc. We are waiting for the time we go there and nothing has been done since our last visit haha. You will be under way in no time at all Re: Coral Homes - Modified Longreach 33 in QLD 49Apr 25, 2017 10:17 pm Found your thread! Your house is looking amazing already! Plaster boards won't be far off, that was the most exciting part for me so far haha Can't wait to follow your build 😃 Re: Coral Homes - Modified Longreach 33 in QLD 50Apr 25, 2017 11:17 pm Coral Homes - Modified Longreach 33 in QLD 51Apr 26, 2017 12:04 am Ohhhh good up date Craig, got to love that gyprock, the boys work like demons you will be so thrilled tomorrow afternoon. Oh nice your system is the same capacity as ours, our summer power bill was $1250 . I do run a clothes dryer every day and the ducted was on from 9am till 7pm everyday too. I do agree though solar will help so much am looking into that now just waiting on some info back. Did you get your noggins up? Re: Coral Homes - Modified Longreach 33 in QLD 52Apr 26, 2017 8:53 pm Thanks Tribe, nothing happened on site today, just a delivery for the brickies. Spoke to SS this morning as not all acoustic batts were installed. He is going to sort it and hoping to meet him on site tomorrow to discuss a few things. It's a 3 phase 20kw system so will chew the power for sure I hope that was a quarter, our last rental had an older single phase Daiken ducted and a pool and we did over $700 a month for 2 months!! I'm hoping the newer systems are more efficient lol. We are going to wait until we get our first few bills before deciding on solar.......living in hope maybe the house will get some cooling breezes. Spent all day there yesterday and got most of it done then remembered noggins for ceiling fans. Managed to get a couple done and hoping plasterboard will start next week so I can finish off over the weekend, if not then I'll be a roof rat doing the rest of them, some will have to wait until after the aircon counters are installed. I have a healthy respect for how quickly tradies get things done, although I'm a measure 3 times, think about it recheck then cut and still get it wrong. How are things going for you? Managed to catch the framing guys onsite one day and they did TV noggins in 4 rooms last week. Re: Coral Homes - Modified Longreach 33 in QLD 53Apr 26, 2017 8:59 pm Found ya!! Are you guys fitting fans after? if not wouldn't coral take care of noggins for fans?? We also have a few tv points one of my questions today will be about noggins for them. My oldest Son is a 3rd year chippy so I will get him to pop them in if need be. Between yourself and Henry I'm getting hints of who mine should look . Omg your power bill is worse than mine holy hell. Yes 3 phase ducted is much better to run but still likes to gobble the power, we might do well with solar . Good on your for getting out there and getting so much done, the less time you have to spend stuck in a hot ceiling cavity the better. Hehhehe least your thorough with your measuring and cutting, I'm a bit the same and Mr T laughs at me . Getting there slowly on my front, sorted out the fridge, ducted quote due back along with everything else it's just the waiting game on quotes and info Re: Coral Homes - Modified Longreach 33 in QLD 60Apr 27, 2017 11:09 pm bribiebell Just popping my head in for a progress update hehe... My oldest Son is a 3rd year chippy so I will get him to pop them in if need be. Pop in anytime haha, had to have fans fitted in the Rumpus and Media room due to energy efficiency requirements but doing the rest after handover. Got a contact of an electrician who does 'weekend work' so will be getting lights done at the same time and will save some dollars, got extra sockets done as they are more of a pain to do after handover and are reasonably priced. Could have got the framing guys to do noggins for fans, but not sure where some of them will go due to aircon counters so will have to do them later. The frame guys did a cash job for the TV noggins in family, media, rumpus and main bedroom, but may as well get your son to do them and earn his keep haha. Most of the ceilings plaster boarded today, will upload some pics tomorrow. Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 7218 Hi all. Anyone know when the $11,000 limit was set in legislation for renovations in QLD?
