Although we were expecting this, it still came as a shock. For anyone wanting to read up on the beginning of our build, here's the old thread:

We had our insurance claim in pretty quickly, and I think it helped that we weren't too far into the build. Then the next step was to get quotes from new builders willing to take on the job of completing our home. We got 3-4, some were RIDICULOUSLY overpriced. One builder always stood out for us and thankfully, they were the builder that the insurance company gave the nod to. We had our claim finalised in late December/ early January 2017.
6th February 2017 - signed contract with Dean Homes

15th September 2017 - handover
As we were just at frame stage, Dean Homes came up with a couple ideas to give our house more street appeal. I am a lover of weatherboard, or at least the look of it. And so, our new facade will look like this:

And here's a pic of what our house looked like before work had started up again:

I know, depressing right? It looked like a wasteland. We did have a few people ask if we were going to sell as they wanted our land but I've been waiting too long for this house to let this go.
I will post our colours etc in the next post
