Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 19, 2017 7:43 am Hi, Everyone. We were recently done PCI. Unfortunately, we found water dropping from the ceiling after checking the water pressure on the first floor.I know this is one of the worst thing can be happening when you are building a house. Our SS said it can be fixed til handover but I really worry about the plumbing issue which might happen again after handover. Is there anyone who experienced similar situation like us? We want another plumber come to our site check to make sure everything is good. Also we want to change our plasterboard on the ceiling as it already has a watermarks. We dont want to move a new home which already has a mould. Any suggestions are welcomed! Thank you! Re: Water Leaks during PCI 2Mar 19, 2017 8:44 am Hi Fegele, Another plumbing cannot come on site if the builder is still on site. Reason is because the builders hold the insurance for the construction and if another contractor who isn't working under your builder then issues could arises even if your plumber is insured. It is expected the builder will make all necessary repairs prior to handover because the council will NOT issue an occupation certificate for the residence until everything is fixed. In addition there are certifiers and depending on who your builder is there will be an independent certifier that is appointed by council or your builder. Hope the info helps. The council has nothing to do with building inspections and mandatory inspections are done by the relevant building surveyor or building inspector but they will not pick up all defects. This is why you should have your own inspector for building stage inspections.
