How long did it take you to get council approval? Are you in Cardinia or Casey? We've just had our second soil report and should be going for council approval soon with Cardinia Shire.

Re: Building the Charlton (Baby Charlton) 28 By Porter Davis 24May 05, 2017 4:05 pm Hi skadoosh, You could just go there and advise them you want to look around as you are thinking of building with PD, they will give you a visitor pass and off you go. Re: Building the Charlton (Baby Charlton) 28 By Porter Davis 25May 05, 2017 4:20 pm Hey Way2Funky, thanks for sharing the pics from WOS. I noticed that you picked Rustic Coffee for your flooring. That was our original pick as well, but we're told that the color was discontinued. Wondering if I can go back to them to ask about it? Re: Building the Charlton (Baby Charlton) 28 By Porter Davis 26May 05, 2017 4:43 pm way2funky Hi Nikil, It took me 4-5 weeks to get the permit, i am in Casey. Council approval is a breeze you are almost there. We don't actually don't require a building permit just the council approval . I'm hoping it will be quick, PD told us it usually takes around 5 weeks? Have a look at the councils website or call them to check to see what the specific process is for getting council endorsement for your plans. Then point PD to that process. We lost over 6-8 weeks spending time with unnecessary delays. The building permit should only take a day or two council endorsement is received. Hi Sinbox, Discontinued? hmmm when did you do your colours? That was the first thing i chose when i decided to build a new house, as soon as i walked to the riverwalk werribee display i fell in love with the floor/wall paint combination. I am pretty sure it is still available unless i will be getting an email soon telling me it's no more. Have you signed the contract yet? i am certain they don't start ordering the material till after the permit has been granted so if you still on that stage try again, it is a nice floor. It was a slight pain for me (developer) they asked for things to be changed that wasn't expected like upstairs side windows to be frosted when i am surrounded by vacant lots and more render that they required. also the front landscape all they wanted is small and big trees they are trying to make it look like taj mahal while some earlier stages houses all they got is some mulch and one small tree.lol Still council permit is easy to get as far as what i have heard, my hiccups were mostly with the developer not the council. You know sinbox i didn't want to say but sometimes i do suspect builders might play with your emotion in regards to the permit issue they might get it much earlier than when they advise but it is just a suspicion. Re: Building the Charlton (Baby Charlton) 28 By Porter Davis 32May 05, 2017 10:43 pm nikil Thanks, how long does the actual council approval usually take? Under a week max, they usually just tick it off straight away especially if they see the developer has already given it the nod. Ours is a KDR so no developer approval to worry about thankfully Re: Building the Charlton (Baby Charlton) 28 By Porter Davis 34May 05, 2017 11:21 pm nikil way2funky nikil Thanks, how long does the actual council approval usually take? Yeah with KDR one advantage you have is you get to avoid dealing with developer's giving out permit. seriously that saves you 3-6 weeks. I'll check back with them on Monday to see if it is back in stock... For example, despite clear council guidelines, they wasted time getting planning permit approvals, when it was not needed as the estate was pre-approved with planning permits. They also spent over 6 weeks with a water authority for approvals which was not even needed as advised by the water authority. Frankly, we would'nt have had our site start yet, had I not put my foot down their throat and took charge of things... so you can understand my apprehensions.... Re: Building the Charlton (Baby Charlton) 28 By Porter Davis 38Jul 03, 2017 10:58 pm Hi Everyone sorry for gone missing been really busy getting the ball rolling with site start/work and now everything is going at the speed of light. Let see where i left off with my last update, hmmmm....yeah so once i got the permit (council and developer) my builder took few weeks to double check everything and i got my site start in early june and it just went supersonic speed from there. I missed out by a week for my bushfire levy since my bushfire prone zone was lifted in start of june but builder wouldn't budge and told me my build has gone to site start already and i thought i dont want to delay anymore since i would lose my discounts as it was nearing the expiry date. Anyway i got some new pictures to show. This is a picture of my Vacant land taken on Easter Monday. My cosy Small Land up to the boundary sticks. After i took care of the slab invoice which took 3 business days, site supervisor called me to advise Frame work to start today... i went past on yesterday to have a last look at my slab and i was suprised with this: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ They have started already ohweeeee I had to check few times if it was really my lot. First floor well underway Hopefully by the end of the week they will be on the second floor. Anyone knows how long the framing stage takes on average? now I think i am feeling the BUZZ after being Meh for a while, i don't know what it was but maybe it's because now i can finally see the house taking shape. Another thing is i can't believe how expensive building a house is getting, from last year to this year it is a huge jump. I saved close to $30k just because i secured my price from last year. Is this with all builders? I wonder if the stamp duty discount rolled from this month would also harm some of the prices now.
