Two things I am trying to decide on are the mirrors and lighting in the ensuite and powder rooms. We've opted to supply these ourselves so the possibilities are endless!
Here's our colours again for these areas. Oyster grey cabinets in satin shaker profile, organic white stone benches, grey 300x600 tiles on floor, white 100x300 subway tiles to half height with pencil edge trim. Walls will probably be a medium grey to tie in with the cabinets. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ For our powder room, the sink will be off centre. Eg round mirror with black edge, glass pendant with black cable, pics on wall with black frame? I love the idea of a round mirror for a more modern look. Though I do also love a square mirror with a silver beaded edge. Just worried that this is too OTT and too traditional with the subway tiles. Our Custom Hamptons Inspired Home 222May 21, 2017 3:52 pm Examples with round mirrors. Too modern? Will black accents look ok without black tapware? Seems like people usually match, hence my suggestion to match the pendant and picture frames. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Alternative square beaded mirror. Really love this. Just trying to picture it with white subway tiles half way up the walls. Definitely considering this in the ensuite, though one big mirror longways, with some wall sconces either side. I wonder about our 3 month delay and often think if it didn't happen I wouldn't have ended up with what I have as many of my choices back then were different to what I ended up with after having so much time to think about them. I love the idea of black accents especially frames, mirror frames and lights. I feel it gives a real sophisticated look. And definitely won't look weird with chrome tapwear! In fact if you changed to black taps I think the whole vibe would change to a more edgier modern look rather than the classic sophisticated Hampton. Just my opinion anyway Re: Our Custom Hamptons Inspired Home 225May 22, 2017 8:49 pm Sure can Babe. I have these little beauties bookmarked for future shopping lol. I can always depend on you for a pep up and some great advice. Yes don't want modern to border on edgy! Gotta still have a classic feel. How's things with you Hun? Anything new? Or just back over it with your car I also have a tree I'm trying to get rid of. My neighbours tree is blocking my city view. I offered to pay for removing in but he wasn't keen. Will have to resort to other methods. Re: Our Custom Hamptons Inspired Home 232May 26, 2017 7:50 pm Apparently concreter started works today, yay, finally! They've dug all the channels for the edge beams/footings. As we've still got quite a bit of rock under the surface, there's apparently an issue with some of the footings sitting on rock and some on clay. Engineer has been consulted and apparently it needs to be just one or the other. Not both. Hopefully they they will work this out as it's all a bit beyond me! As long as it's all structurally sound and at no extra cost which we've been assured is the case so far. If everything goes to plan, steel should be done by Tues next week, we'll get our Darbecca inspector out on Wed and pour should be Thursday or Friday. Hope the weather gods are nice to us next week! How dare he block your city views!! Maybe you could offer to replace it with a different type that doesn't grow so tall? Then he gets to keep a tree and you get your views! Here's some Hamptons inspo for you courtesy of a new Metricon display in NSW that came up on my FB newsfeed. Love the floors and really liking the black accents. Given our appliances are black, now considering changing our handles from brushed silver to something like this. Thoughts? What do you think of cup handles vs this style (more French provincial) in black? I love Hampton theme I think black handles would look great, just not those ones, there not the right style. I found this pic of Amity Drys kitchen, maybe these handles in black?
