They moved in a few months ago and are patiently waiting for our frame to go up, particularly the double brick garage wall. Once that's done we can get the fence up. In the meantime they have been paying for a temp fence. Might have to offer again to go halves as did not think it would take this long! Meanwhile our neighbours at the back just emailed hubby a fencing quote - no hello, no preamble, no explanation. Very strange and a bit rude if you ask me! They briefly introduced themselves via text a while back, but strange just to forward the quote only. I mean did they even bother to get 3 quotes? I have no idea what's a fair price. We've asked and will see what they say. Lastly got our energy report revised after we had to change our void window and huge stacker door from double glazed to low e glass (was too heavy otherwise) and happy to report we still meet 6 star, so no further upgrades to the insulation needed! Money saved, for a change Our 37sq Custom Hamptons Inspired Home: http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=86931 Re: Our Custom Hamptons Inspired Home - We are slabbed! 362Jul 25, 2017 7:56 pm Great news on the savings. As for fencing if the rates are similar to Perth then you're looking at around $115pm for a standard Colorbond fence to give you a baseline. I can't tell you how many fencing quotes I've looked at in my line of work handling home insurance claims Follow our build with Express Two Storey (Ventura Group): http://tinyurl.com/jlykgph Follow our build with Express Two Storey (Ventura Group): viewtopic.php?f=31&t=85122 Re: Our Custom Hamptons Inspired Home - We are slabbed! 363Jul 25, 2017 8:10 pm Dani_J Thanks guys. We have double glazed ours so wonder if we will have the same issue? We have double glazed ours so wonder if we will have the same issue? Hey Ezza. They are around 4.5m wide. Was not possible to get the 3 panel configuration we wanted in double glazed as each panel was too thick/ heavy. So we went the low e glass option which is lighter and not too bad thermally. How wide is yours? Will probably depend on your supplier as well. One supplier wouldn't do a 3 panel config for us even in the low e glass! Your doors will look great! We would have loved a 6 bi-part door but would have needed reinforce the ceiling. Does seem odd when neighbours just do that without consulting you in person or even with a nice letter. Social skills much? How do they expect you are going to interact next time?! Just ignore each other?! I guess to be fair we don't interact with any of our current neighbours, but our rental has high fences all round.. not conducive to interaction! Yeah we are the same. Don't really see hide nor hair of our current neighbours, as we mostly keep to ourselves. But really want to get off to a good start with this next house, and try to make more of an effort. These guys just aren't making it easy for us!
