My cousin has a hamptons style house in Bris it's just amazing my kids love staying there as better than hotel but pure nightmare making sure they don't touch anything Re: Our Custom Hamptons Inspired Home - We are slabbed! 347Jul 13, 2017 9:29 pm Guess I spoke too soon. Still no frame up yet ☹️ The framer has apparently been delayed on another job and probably won't start until Monday. A bit peed off really. It's been 4 weeks since our slab pour and no progress. Yes I guess I should be happy and stop comparing to others who seem to have their frame up like the next day after the slab is poured! Just getting impatient!!! Still hard to visualize it all without walls ans roof etc. going to have to live vicariously thru yours for a while Re: Our Custom Hamptons Inspired Home - We are slabbed! 350Jul 14, 2017 7:51 am Woohoo frames!!! Exciting stuff babes!!! Feel your frustration of slab being poured then nothing. The only thing that got me through was well at least it's had time to cure Re: Our Custom Hamptons Inspired Home - We are slabbed! 351Jul 14, 2017 8:29 pm charlibear Woohoo frames!!! I need to take a leaf out of your book and learn some patience! Don't have to like it though Glad though things are starting coming along for you! More chances of structural issues and cracking etc in the future if it hasn't cured long enough. Patience my dear. Haha easy for me to say now we are in though. It's bloody hard! Yes I know, patience, patience lol. How's your place going? Anything new? Meanwhile busying myself looking at decorative stuff. Does anyone know if lighting purchased from the U.K. works here? I think they use the same voltage as us (240v). Struggling to find wall lights for our ensuite that I really like!! Yep indeed it does! If it's just pendants etc then it's all identical. If it's lamps etc then you will need to change over the plug, but that's super simple to do (you're supposed to get a sparky to do it for you, but I had about 20 plugs I needed changing when I moved to Oz and I just went to Bunnings and bought the plugs and used a YouTube video and that was that!) Thanks Scubabe, this is great to know. You're brave! If I had to change plugs over, I'd probably electrocute myself! Congrats on frames arriving. Boo on job delay... It does feel like forever when you wait for the slab curing part.. though I think at most it's a week to two week hold for that. So definitely longer than expected! Hope your pre-made frames go up quickly! Should help. Ours were hand built on site.
