Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Our Custom Hamptons Inspired Home 141Apr 01, 2017 10:54 am Magavin - ah, I know those lights as cage lights! Love your hexagonal tile splashback. Will the mirror extend from the side wall to the shower tiles or be centred between the lights? Dani j I agree with Magavin, I would get the screens and take them off and store them. Or more precisely I would rather have the openable windows and not open them, than have fixed windows and not be able to open them if I needed to. Most likely was done this way because there's a Telstra and elec pit in the middle of the nature strip. It's around 1.7-1.8m away, which apparently is less than the required 2m. We are worried once it matures it will overhang our driveway and/or root system will undermine it. Guess we'll see what they say. Would hate if one of the cement trucks *accidentally* drove over it Our driveway is on left: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Our RH neighbour. Those pendants definitely give it a more industrial edge. I'm sure the handles you've chosen will complement them. Can't wait to see it all finished. Already looks great! We are going with the cup pulls everywhere on drawers and the salemi knobs, Though the savelli handles are very nice Waldorf Stacker door will be white as per rest of our windows. BrownDog, you can should be able to put a screen door on them; you just need another track. The sales guys showed us on one in the showroom, not quite a boutique stacker but same size and so I imagine would be similar. I know Hillsbuild! It is very hard to decide. I love the idea of French doors, so chic, just hate the idea of cleaning all those little square panes of glass!! But we opted for a slightly more modern look anyway. Just hope we can afford it. A little unreal that it's finally happening! Will have to go past the block this weekend and see if our temp fence is up yet. ☺ On Wednesday I went with my parents to their colour selection appointment. They are building a single storey with JG King (downsizing now we've all left the nest). Had lots of fun helping choose colours, so much so thinking would love to do this for a living. I'm actually considering a moving back to a career in the building industry, but that's another story! Anyway happy to report my parents chose well for the most part, though I had to cringe at mum's choice of a round edge laminate bench top even if they're going diamond gloss! Apparently it's 'safer, less pointy' LOL. Also talked my dad out of a front security screen door! Thank goodness mum was with me on that one - yuck! Tiles on the other hand, I could look at for days. And just getting my head around the different types of carpet... yawn! Me: does it feel soft, plushy? Yes? Then I don't care what's it's made of

Our current elec plan has provision for two pendants. I love the glass ones but worried about constantly having to dust! As for the more industrial style, I really love them but not sure if I want to go for a harder style like this or a softer style with glass. Our theme is modern Hamptons/coastal. I also like the idea of single long glass pendant instead of two individual ones. Thoughts? Hopefully will be okay in a wet area. A bit more modern than the others too. As for the dining. That's a hard one! I had trouble with dining to. I like the chrome one the best. I actually went to a lighting shop looking for one but came out with something else that caught my eye on clearance sale. Kind of similar but more industrial with a cage over the light. Those sconces for the ensuite will also look fantastic!!! Loving your choices so far! You should definitely consider a move back to building and design!
