Received the keys to our new house today!!!!! It was so nice to enter the house (legally) on our own and begin the process of moving in. The house has come up a treat, found a couple of extremely minor paint jobs to complete, but our SM is fantastic and will get them done shortly. Can't believe it really, looking forward to making our new baby part of the family. 😜👍😜👍🍸🍸🍸🍸 Re: Our Metricon Duxton 39- Coastal Facade 122May 23, 2017 9:40 pm PeteK Here we are! Yayyyy Re: Our Metricon Duxton 39- Coastal Facade 123May 23, 2017 9:46 pm Congratulations PeteK! We got our keys Saturday and almost all moved in, it's a big job but so worth it!! Re: Our Metricon Duxton 39- Coastal Facade 124Sep 03, 2017 9:57 pm Well, I cant believe we have been in our house for a few months now! It's flown by, it's looking well lived in now and we've passed the 3 month post-handover timeframe. In that time we've had a few things for M to fix, but our SM has been really responsive to our questions and problems. The main one was a blockage in the upstairs shower drain that caused a build up of water and then leak down the wall of the lounge. Funnily enough, was a piece of plaster. No major damage done. The seal on the oven died within a week and had broken in half, though was replaced quickly. Our pot drawer that we had plenty of problems with during the build fell out and needed to be replaced- this still isn't finished properly but works. Our kitchen sink tap wasn't retracting so the plumber fixed that one up. Stupid garage door closer had a hissy fit and thought it would constantly turn the light on and off and raise and lower of its own accord. Whole thing was replaced- and we found it they'd had a few problems with the model at the time. Not all of our keys were left with us and we couldn't lock our balcony door/ rear sliding doors for a time. All fixed now. Some of the problems were unavoidable, but most could have been avoided with careful checking. We still have a couple of things we'll need to follow up, but other than those, we LOVE our house. I spend at least once per day on the balcony watching the world and looking at the weather. Such a lovely place to live! We're due for our 90 day service very soon. Just a few minor fixes for them to do on ours. Few unusable PowerPoints etc Our first 2 weeks we had plumbing issues. First with our kitchen tap pipes. Finally after 3 visits from them they got it all fixed Our plumbers also scratched the floor when they installed oven so the flooring was also replaced. Luckily our SM dealt with everything in the first month so we were very happy with the after service. Other then that we've had no other dramas. We spend most of our time out the back, it would definitely be a much better view once our landscaping is completed. As much as I'd love sitting on our balcony the thought of dust blowing in our face is a put off once the construction around us settles then it will be a much better place to relax All the best and glad your loving where you live Re: Our Metricon Duxton 39- Coastal Facade 126Mar 17, 2018 6:30 pm Hi Pete, bit late to the party but loves reading your blog. Just starting the process for us. Did you do the master upgrade? I think the standard has a bigger robe but sucks that all display homes have thge upgrade s o cant compare. Re: Our Metricon Duxton 39- Coastal Facade 127Mar 17, 2018 6:48 pm Hey Emma, no, didn't do the upgrade, left the same dimensions but changed the robes to a his and hers. In hindsight, we would have reduced the size of the study to make the master bigger, but for a room we just sleep in, not a major problem! Cheers! Re: Our Metricon Duxton 39- Coastal Facade 128Mar 17, 2018 7:59 pm Thanks Peter. Are you happy with the wardrobe size? Re: Our Metricon Duxton 39- Coastal Facade 131May 11, 2018 12:15 pm Just wondering if you have any photos of your front decking steps please. I want to do something similar and can’t find examples to show the hubby Re: Our Metricon Duxton 39- Coastal Facade 132Jun 09, 2018 7:41 am One year in to our house and couldn't love it any more than we do. Awesome place to live, so quiet and great to come home to. Been a long process getting gardens done, most of the structural things being done, but honestly, work has taken up all our time! Will post some pics shortly.

Re: Our Metricon Duxton 39- Coastal Facade 134Jul 05, 2020 9:20 pm PeteK March 15th 2017 Carpet installation began today. Weird looking patterns on the camera! Concreters also needed to return to level the slab in parts ready for the timber flooring. During our inspection last week with the SM we picked up a few things that have been recitified already.
