Gravy are your double glazed sliding windows aneetasashless sliding windows? Re: Modified Burbank Indigo 5100 in Grandvue Officer 102Apr 13, 2017 9:26 pm I have two awning windows in my current house and I find they don't let much breeze in when a cool change comes after a heat wave. I much prefer sliding for good flow through. Modified Burbank Indigo 5100 in Grandvue Officer 103Apr 13, 2017 10:01 pm Gravy $10,500 seems reasonable for double glazing so many windows, annoying about having to change them to awning style tho I have sliding double glazed windows (I think lol) but from what I understand awning windows are much better sealed so get a higher energy rating. Apparently awning windows are more better. You can open them during the rain without having rain come through. It's more modern looking. We are having awning as well. Initially I wanted the slinding more. But I researched into the pros and cons. And weighed them up. Which made more sense to get the awning in the end. viewtopic.php?t=86597 Re: Modified Burbank Indigo 5100 in Grandvue Officer 105Apr 14, 2017 1:37 am Site supervisor uploaded some pics of the slab for us as well as photos of all the fixes the inspector asked for also received a nice big invoice for the slab, not so awesome lol. During the heatwave in February of 40+ degree days we couldn't get enough airflow and with no aircon it was like sleeping in an oven, the kids bedrooms with sliders were better though. It is not something I had even thought about! I checked our windows at the site of our build and they are all awning at the front (6) and around the house on the ground floor, the rest in the house are sliders including all the bedrooms. Thanks Re: Modified Burbank Indigo 5100 in Grandvue Officer 108Apr 16, 2017 7:29 am We removed all downlights from our Burbank build and don't regret it at all. Our home feels so much more homely with pendants and lamps. If you can afford double glazed get it, our kitchen, family rooms cop the afternoon sun but you wouldn't know it, our old house was like an oven in Summer but not this one. We have awning windows throughout, better for security and who wants to open a window when it's 40 degrees, I sure don't lol we have been in our Burbank home for 8 months now and absolutely love it! Also received our official commencement letter last week, the official finish date is 28th January but they will do everything they can to finish much sooner or so they say, I hope we're done before Xmas! Re: Modified Burbank Indigo 5100 in Grandvue Officer 120Apr 26, 2017 7:04 pm Got word from Burbank today to book our frame inspection for the 5th of March. I was a bit surprised because of the Anzac holiday and all the recent rain and also more rain forecast for the rest of the week, but seems like they're soldering on regardless of the bad weather. I've been a little worried thinking about my frame sitting out in the torrential rain but I guess this stuff happens. Weather looks good for the next couple weeks so hopefully they'll get bricks and roof on quickly before the next big storms and the frame will get a good chance to dry out.
