Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 25, 2017 6:57 pm Hi everyone! I thought it would be good fun to document the build of our first home and start our own thread! My husband and I along with our 5 yr old daughter are embarking on a very exciting time in our lives and building our very first home, the Marcoola 32! We had walked through the Marcoola 26 a few times but decided it wasn't big enough so drove 5.5hrs to walk through the Marcoola 32 and fell in love. We have made a few changes such as extending bedrooms 2, 3 and 4, the activity room and we've made our back patio double the size. We've also added upper cabinetry and a bench to our laundry and built in draws/shelving to all bedroom robes. We are just about to settle on our land and have had our prelim land tests done so now we are awaiting the arrival of our Tender. Very excited but just want it to hurry up lol Im very impatient which I know will not be fun while building. I look forward to seeing others journeys and cannot wait to be able to upload pics of our progress! I'll be sure to pop up plans when they come, I can't wait! First Home Buyer Building our first home in 2017 Re: Coral Homes Marcoola 32 NSW Mid North Coast 8Feb 26, 2017 7:26 am Wondering if any of you can shed some light on a few things Coral Homes related? We are also putting in a shed and a pool but Coral won't add them to the house DA. Anyone dealt with that before? Also we wanted colorbond roof but our salesman is telling us it will be around $15k!! Is that right? First Home Buyer Building our first home in 2017 Re: Coral Homes Marcoola 32 NSW Mid North Coast 9Feb 26, 2017 7:41 am I can't help with the DA stuff as GJ put our shed on our DA. I thought Coral have the promo for steel frames and colourbond roof or has that ended? &15k doesn't sound right to me. Also how big is your block? Sounds massive to fit a 350ish sqm house, shed and pool GJ Gardner Modified Coolum 277 viewtopic.php?t=83643 Re: Coral Homes Marcoola 32 NSW Mid North Coast 10Feb 26, 2017 7:50 am Sarah13 Wondering if any of you can shed some light on a few things Coral Homes related? Is that right? We organised our own septic as we are on a rural block and we had to do our own DA. talk to the council and they will tell you what to do. We got a price for colourbond and it was around $4k. There was a promotion for it but i think it was only for sydney, newcastle and brisbane builds. We are mid north coast too. Will see at tender I guess what they think....fingers crossed!
