Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Modified Carrington with Statesman Homes S.A [first home 23Apr 27, 2017 10:52 am alysanne that's exciting! We have received full development approval from the council, but a requirement has not been met in our Land Management Agreement - which may potentially cause issues down the track. This is due to sound mitigation as we are near a train line. I think the requirements are a bit over the top - and so do others in our estate, so we are awaiting the outcome of a new sound report.. Fingers crossed it's in our favour! I just want slab already!! Re: Modified Carrington with Statesman Homes S.A [first home 25May 04, 2017 10:19 am alysanne STILL no sound report! Grr!!! We are at our wits end.. I have my fingers crossed for your formal approval - we were hoping to have slab by the end of April/start of May - which was going to plan up until now!! Nevermind - it's all part of the process, isn't it! Re: Modified Carrington with Statesman Homes S.A [first home 26May 04, 2017 1:06 pm Fingers crossed both of your approvals come through quickly. Our bank was lagging with paperwork so our RTC has been pushed back to tomorrow. can't wait to see something finally happen. Re: Modified Carrington with Statesman Homes S.A [first home 28May 08, 2017 7:40 pm It's definitely seeming that way. I rang today to find out if we were released to construction last Friday as we were told we would be but no. Apparently we have encumbrances that we weren't aware of and the developer needed to approve our plan. Thankfully they have but they only sent it back last Thursday so we were pushed back to this Friday for RTC. I'm over it already and it hasn't even begun. I just keep telling myself it will all be over and we will be moved in before I know it. Really hope both of you get some good news soon. Re: Modified Carrington with Statesman Homes S.A [first home 29May 13, 2017 9:38 pm ckfd Have you now been released to construction now? My formal approval finally came through, after what I will call bumps on the road. Original settlement date of May 1st was pushed, but settlement has now been booked in for Tuesday 16th. I am extremely relieved, as it was looking as though I would have to postpone the build . Apparently I will be released to construction within the next 3 weeks. I now need to find someone to take down a portion of the fence and put up a temporary one as I am building in between 2 existing properties. Re: Modified Carrington with Statesman Homes S.A [first home 30May 14, 2017 7:47 am I wish!! I rang Statesman last week to find out if we had been released as I hadn't heard anything. Apparently our developer needed to approve our house plans and he hadn't sent back the paperwork in time. According to a statesman though we were on the green pile to be released Friday just gone but we didn't hear anything. Hoping we hear something tomorrow. So happy to hear about your formal approval. I hope it all goes quickly and smoothly for you. We also had some major fencing dramas but that was due to colour and because we are in the edge of our estate we are dealing with a very badly written encumbrance. Re: Modified Carrington with Statesman Homes S.A [first home 31May 18, 2017 9:44 pm Land finally settled this week, and Statesman are saying they will release it to construction next Friday, as long as I hand in some paperwork tomorrow. Crazy how quickly and how slowly it can all move. I now feel rushed as I have to sort out the fence with the neighbour and someone to take it down + put up a temporary one. Re: Modified Carrington with Statesman Homes S.A [first home 32May 18, 2017 9:46 pm That's brilliant news!! I was only saying to hubby today how slow the last 6 months have gone and now everything going so fast. Fingers crossed for no other delays and you get RTC next week!! Re: Modified Carrington with Statesman Homes S.A [first home 34May 29, 2017 11:33 pm No, not until this Friday. Apparently the papers I had handed back were of the wrong plans or something, and then when I sent them back via email it was past their cut off time (even though it was only half an hour after they emailed me through what I had to sign...). Anyway, it means time to tend to the block and get rid of the shrubs that aren't meant to be here, and the weeds. How is your build going? ckfd Re: Modified Carrington with Statesman Homes S.A [first home 35Jun 09, 2017 12:17 pm So today I went to my block to sort out the fence, and alas they have levelled out the land and dug out trenches already! I had no idea. Slab is to be poured Monday 19th of June. Re: Modified Carrington with Statesman Homes S.A [first home 37Jun 29, 2017 5:31 pm ckfd It has moved along a little. After some really poor communication and annoyances a couple of weeks back, I have had fences removed and the slab has been poured. This was sometime over Friday to Monday. They leave it for 5-7 days then the drainage is done. The the frame and brick supplies are delivered within 14 days. It'd be nice to get the roof on before the heavy rain begins. How is yours progressing? Re: Modified Carrington with Statesman Homes S.A [first home 40Jul 03, 2017 8:54 pm How's it all going now mate? Should have the frames on site now??
