I don't know about Brisbane, but in Melbourne, nope
The cheapest 3 bedroom houses I've seen started at about 150k... and small blocks of land (under 300sqm) are about 150k plus in Melbourne.

I was thinking you may be able to on Russell Island?
Not for your current build? Plenty of rural areas you can pick up land that cheap.

That sucks! Hope it all works out. Good to move away from steel anyway for all your reasons, but it's also thermally poor.
