Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Snowdon Homes 2Jul 30, 2017 7:35 pm Copying my review here so maybe I can save some people their money - Everyone's a smooth talker and extremely helpful before they get your deposit. Once they have your money it's a different story! (Same goes for Hamilton Property Group -their agent). 6 months after settlement they don't even have a building permit! They won't give me answers and refuse to get things into gear and get onto site. They've told me they've applied for permits, etc. when they hadn't and I only found out when I called the relevant bodies. Avoid them like the plague! Re: Snowdon Homes 3Sep 24, 2017 6:29 pm We are building with Snowdon at the moment, at this stage we are not at all happy with the quality of the build and the sub standard workmanship, which is causing us excess stress and becoming an unpleasant experience. We will see how obliging they are at fixing the issues but at this stage I could not recommend them Re: Snowdon Homes 4Sep 25, 2017 7:24 am [quote="mralex34"]We are building with Snowdon at the moment, at this stage we are not at all happy with the quality of the build and the sub standard workmanship, which is causing us excess stress and becoming an unpleasant experience. I'm concerned and I haven't even started! Re: Snowdon Homes 5Sep 25, 2017 1:25 pm We are building in Melbourne, It took around 3-4 months for them to start, The house is at Lock Up Stage now but with the amount of problems we can see it may not be finsihed for some time later, Picked out colours in December 2016 so it looks like it will be a 12 month process, Not happy, such a mentally draining process. How long ago did you pick your colours? How long ago did you pick your colours? What sort of problems are you experiencing? Is it structural things or cosmetic things? I haven't even picked colours yet - not looking forward to this if this is how they operate! A 12 month build is ridiculous. Re: Snowdon Homes 7Sep 25, 2017 3:36 pm Cosmetic and potentially Structural, We are not happy with the brickwork which i have posted on another thread on this site, Very poor workmanship, It appears some of their contractors are just cowboys and show no pride in their work and a distinct lack of respect for the finished result and their clients. I recommend you get a building inspector to inspect the build throughout the different stages for your peace of mind.
