Are you trying to get away from Sydney rain? Raining over there too lol

My carpenters worked under light sprinkling rain. Just as long as we don't get rain early in the morning ( between 7:30am - 9:00am ), they may be able to start on frames.

Well yesterday was a disaster in more ways than one... I never got to the Gold Coast, virgin cancelled all flights to GC yesterday although qantas and jet star flew I couldn't change flights. We had loads of rain and wind so no frames went up not that I blamed them though!
Today however is dry and a bit windy, hubby texted the SS to ask if frames were going up today, he was sent a photo by the SS....

I'm scared to go up this evening to see if anything actually happened. 13 weeks into our build I'm so over the waiting and disappointment!

Yeah 13 weeks and still no frames
Disappointing.
Glad you have people on site, hope you got some progress today... show us the photos!

Sorry I couldnt help but notice your neighbours are all bricked up, just like us
. Actually ours is worse, external plumbing not done yet.
Do you know which builder did that single in the background? Their roof tiles look abit wavey
They must have done something today. Looking forward for first photo of your frames.
What ever your reason to go to Gold Coast, for now you are safer and better off here in Sydney.

Well amazingly we have frames up today hubby went and took some pics although I've not been up there yet. So pleased that it's started now and hope to see more progress over the next week. Frames have been sitting getting rained on for several weeks now, exactly 8 weeks since the slab was done so hope they will be ok. Lucky week 13 is finally over!!

Awesome! So excited for you
Omg!!! I just read your last post and felt awful for you that you couldn't go to the GC like you had planned butttt hoooray for frames starting!!!! Must be such a weight off your shoulders

I am so so happy for you!! Hopefully our frames go up next week if the water recedes enough for builders to come.

Can't wait for more progress for you!!!

Thanks CB I do hope you have frames too next week!! I wasn't too disappointed about the GC it was only a work conference and there will be others and the weather was so bad the flight would have been a very bumpy one!!

Well I've been up to have a walk around it's good to see some progress the frames actually seem in pretty good condition considering the amount of rain that's fallen on them. I have noticed a mistake in the frames though

These two windows are meant to be between the rendered columns one of which will be on the concrete square you can see in this pic. If the windows go in now the column will run straight through the window, also the window is in the butlers pantry right in front of the fridge and we specifically didn't want windows in the pantry. I'm a bit annoyed that it's taken me to spot this but I guess these sorts of mistakes will happen when the carpenters and tradies build so many different styles of home! The good thing is as we signed the contract nearly two years ago I know the build inside out and back to front I've looked at it so many times!!
Still....it's good to see frames, I'm very hopeful for some good weather next week to see more.

Hay trimum, so good to see frames are up for you, hopefully more sunshine next week to have framing completed. Feels really good to be able to walk around and check out rooms.

I'm always checking for crack in timbers and measurement of height and distance and have a list items to point out to SS at frames inspection stage.

I'm truly very happy for you.

uchiha... when are you starting your thread? we went to see and your progress too.

I loved walking around the frames shawaz our doorway looks huge but we did upgrade to the largest door, hope they will be able to get some more frames up this week although more need to be delivered as it looks as though only the ground floor ones were delivered.

Our Acacia build - http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=86619
Yes they will deliver timbers, steel beams and windows at different stages.
Our carpenters seem to be spot on with delivery time so they can place, adjust location of frames and windows.

Yay to frames and good work on noticing the details Keep on top of the details. They are usually fine with you letting them know early... I really don't know how some people can set and forget.

Thanks yvonneh yes hubby spoke to the SS yesterday we sent him the photos and plans of the frames that were wrong and he is going up to the site today to make sure it's out right. It's more difficult for me to see any progress now as it's dark when I get home.

Went up to the site in the dark tonight, they have moved the two windows so that's good news, they have put a few more frames up and some boards, looks like a bit more has been done was wondering if more frames and the windows would be delivered but nothing there yet looking forward to an update from SS. I think I'm expecting so much more and am continually disappointed, need to manage my expectations!! Ah well middle of week 14.
