Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Sekisui / Burbank -our Acacia home- Bricks Complete! 563Jan 02, 2018 9:25 pm Thanks that’s what I want them to change to, it looks like Burbank have the skirting we have in the garage as standard, just looks terrible! Re: Sekisui / Burbank -our Acacia home- Bricks Complete! 564Jan 02, 2018 10:13 pm trimum All our bathroom, toilets, laundry and alfresco and entrance have been tiles and grouted. Have to admit the tiler has done an awesome job something at last I can say ‘that’s a good job’ That's good news about tiles guess they gave you the feature tiles as selected. Hang on you had work done over the xmas 'shut down' period? but what's wrong with the entrance? We had gaps between entry frame and brick work too, if that's what you mean? They'll cover with timber trims around the frame. For the garage, on the other side where there is no exposed edge it's lined right to the floor. I bet they were just lazy to get a wider board. And pretty sure our skirting is pine? (Right corner) I wonder if we could just do that ourselves afterwards. Re: Sekisui / Burbank -our Acacia home- Bricks Complete! 566Jan 03, 2018 8:25 am Yes you’re right. They have covered that corner over with the larger board. The other side is only the larger board and then along the back it looks like maybe two larger boards?? Probably because the wall and slab didn’t align so it was a way to tidy it. (Dust skirting boards ... but it’s a garage ) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Sekisui / Burbank -our Acacia home- Bricks Complete! 567Jan 03, 2018 10:10 am The frame is still visible and the door is not straight. In fact you can still see insulation and gyprock. There are bricks missing all down the left had side of the door and the door step is really badly done, there are bricks (which look fine) then the door frame has a step bit that overhangs onto the bricks so there are two mini steps to get in, it’s looks so scruffy and odd. The plans have bricks on the left side so I will be pushing for that. I took pics but they have vanished from my phone!! Oh hang on, this is what you're talking about not having the photos anymore. Re: Sekisui / Burbank -our Acacia home- Bricks Complete! 570Jan 03, 2018 11:47 am And yes unbelievably we had tradies working Christmas week doing grouting and replacing the main bathroom niche feature tiling. The ensuite feature tiling still hasn’t been changed and they have now grouted over the tiles they placed around the bath and in the niche so will be harder to remove them now. We also paid the 4th stage payment. Under protest but hubby made me Re: Sekisui / Burbank -our Acacia home- Bricks Complete! 571Jan 03, 2018 12:30 pm cat_dunc Yes you’re right. If I find there are gaps under the skirting I’m going to try and install/paint a additional board like yours after handover. I missed this completely during pci walkthrough Re: Sekisui / Burbank -our Acacia home- Bricks Complete! 572Jan 03, 2018 12:35 pm Found a pic! I see what you mean now... you want them to do bricks like they’ve done for ours like this? Well they should! On our work order plans they moved our door up against the wall without telling us. I wanted the brick returns so I made them move the door back into the original position. We also have a mini 2nd step Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Sekisui / Burbank -our Acacia home- Bricks Complete! 573Jan 03, 2018 1:03 pm Yes the brick returns! We only have them on one side and our plans has both on it so they won’t get away with not doing it. We also have two mini steps like that only ours are untidier. Also your brick work round you door looks very neat ours is just shocking the best thing about our entrance is the floor tiling! Re: Sekisui / Burbank -our Acacia home- Bricks Complete! 574Jan 06, 2018 6:18 am Well looks like my photos have reappeared!! This is the missing brick returns.. We are thinking to take off skirting inside garage and replace it with tiles so if I needs to wash garage floor at lease gyprock is protected. I hope it’s gets fixed and done probably the second time. Finish or unfinished. The bricks should interconnect with each other at the corners and that can only be done correctly during the installation of the bricks. You don’t want them to get lazy and just install a timber trim on the left side. And on the right corner, the control joint should go all the way down shouldn’t it?
