Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Sekisui / Burbank -our Acacia home-frame stage finally! 161Apr 28, 2017 11:20 am So we have an update from our SS... Our frames have been checked and inspected (by Burbank) and they have noticed some walls are slightly 'out of true'. This and the patio doors will be rectified next week. Bricklaying should start next Thursday 4th May subject to the bricklayers confirmation Electrical work should start next week subject to electrician confirmation. Roof should be going on in 4weeks time. Time will tell if this actually all happens Our Acacia build - http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=86619 Re: Sekisui / Burbank -our Acacia home-frame stage finally! 162Apr 28, 2017 11:21 am They have also said they are currently on schedule to finish on time but when pressed as to when this actually is, no one is able to tell us!!! Re: Sekisui / Burbank -our Acacia home-frame stage finally! 164Apr 28, 2017 8:05 pm Hubby tonight informed me that we had our frames invoice yesterday! Anyhow it's $5k more than the last one I thought they were equal amounts?? I know that there are increases with the tiles and electrical but I need to look at this all in detail over the weekend. In another note we have been told of yet ANOTHER 'supplier issue/change' his time our garage doors. This will change from B & D to decowood not sure if this is a good or bad thing will look at reviews over the weekend Our Acacia build - http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=86619 Re: Sekisui / Burbank -our Acacia home-frame stage finally! 165Apr 28, 2017 8:06 pm ehhc trimum So we have an update from our SS... Thanks yes I woke early and got all the paperwork out, it all matches up ok and happy with the invoice so will get it paid. I had budgeted variations to be paid at the end of the build (tiling/electrical) so that's good to have that confirmed. Now off to look at some blinds at a place in Caringbah, and will stop off at beacon lighting too. Burbank have also at last finally confirmed our start date of 16th Jan, that makes us a completed date of 31st October taking into account all the public holidays and no rain delay days. We started in August 2016, and we have only just gotten confirmation of our contract start date this week! It's certainly good to have an official start date, I do hope we are in by Christmas that would give them a 6 week buffer for delays I am more worried about another hot summer in this rental with no aircon than anything else, I can not cope with 48c heat and no aircon again!!! Yes I'm sure you're right, there are so many places that sell blinds, we went to one nearby recently and they quoted about $250 per window for a custom roller blind which I thought was pretty good and 6 x plantation shutters for just over $2000. The place we went to today had much more choice and make very high quality Australian made blinds which I would much rather buy, just need to send off measurements for a quote now.... I'm thinking of just getting quotes for 3 of the bedrooms initially as they would be the 'must haves' the others we could do room by room when we were in.
