You are moving ahead of me now. Everything looks so good. You have made right choices with bathtub tiles, Like ehhc comment so fancy Plus they have cleaned your place much better than my site. Build Thread : viewtopic.php?=31&t=81624 Re: Our Acacia Home 625Mar 03, 2018 7:31 pm I’m not sure about a clean site! there were cigarette butts on the tiles and there are soft drink cans scattered everywhere. Still it’s hopefully going to be clean at the end of all this. Also they had to leave the bath out of the ensuite to replace the tiles and if you look inside where the bath will go, there are a few bricks with a huge lump of cement on them!! I have no idea if this is intentional or what, it must weigh a ton! Re: Our Acacia Home 626Mar 10, 2018 11:16 am We had a bit more progress this week...the kitchen splashback is in and the grouting of all the tiles everywhere is complete. Still waiting on the garage door and water tank which were both meant to me in by now. Also loads of chips and marks on the walls and new paint . Still because I do think the end is in sight I have chosen and ordered carpets I want these installed the day after handover so we can move in as soon as possible and stop paying rent!! Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Not sure about the splashback colour at all but I’m just beyond caring now!! At least it’s one complete piece. Re: Our Acacia Home 627Mar 10, 2018 11:43 am That’s a very nice colour splash trimum. Lol not like ours. I’m going to install led strip lights to try see if that gets it whiter. Re: Our Acacia Home 628Mar 10, 2018 4:59 pm Glass splash is going to be very easy to clean. I have tiles for splashback at this townhouse and hard to keep it clean. This Monday is the start of week 59 of a 40 week build! I still think there is around 4-6 weeks left before PCI although SS said ‘end of March’. Re: Our Acacia Home 634Mar 10, 2018 7:26 pm As far as damages are concerned it’s $60 a day which doesn’t come close to covering the additional rental costs. They also take off rain delay days, Xmas close down and I’m sure many other spurious reasons to with hold payment!! Re: Our Acacia Home 636Mar 10, 2018 7:33 pm That's super sh*t. Can't believe such a lousy amount is even allowed in the contract. Im sure ours was similar and i scoffed at it. They wouldn't change it though. Would you take to social media to get it finished? if they dont repsond to you or something then write on their facebook page why not and do they take over a year to build everyone's houses??? It’s all your fault cat. And clintdb and Yvonneh. Sucked us all in following your fabulous builds with Sekisui house. I’m joking of course...lol who would of have known we all novated to this place. Just trying to lighten the mood Re: Our Acacia Home 638Mar 10, 2018 8:23 pm cat_dunc That's super sh*t. Can't believe such a lousy amount is even allowed in the contract. Would you take to social media to get it finished? if they dont repsond to you or something then write on their facebook page why not and do they take over a year to build everyone's houses??? It’s been in my mind to do so but we have given them so much crap over the last year and now since October (when the house was just a shell) they have been going much quicker. I have kept a log of all the work they have done since starting last Jan so I know each week what was done. It’s a bit of pedantic I know but at first it was going to be a diary to look back on, it soon became evidence of the delays and lack of progress. I will be happy (ish) if we move in no later than the first week in May - I want to be in the house living there no later than 4th May. If that doesn’t happen then they will wish we hadn’t signed with them because we won’t hold back. I think that date is perfectly reasonable for them. So still to do is: Appliances Aircon unit Caulking on bricks Downpipes some need connecting and painting Garage door Driveway Silicon sealing in bathrooms Bath fitted in ensuite (has been delivered) Shower door in main bathroom Bath taps Render painting Some internal Doors need fixing back on their hinges Pergola render painting Exchange upstairs toilet sink for smaller one Some other misc touch ups/repairs Re: Our Acacia Home 639Mar 10, 2018 8:44 pm OMG... I didn’t realise your house is still being built after over a year! How have you kept your sanity?!? 🤪 - B A vue of the pines on the Gold Coast forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=87210 Re: Our Acacia Home 640Mar 10, 2018 9:12 pm All I wanted them to do is a good quality job at building, It's very slow moving as house prices we paid for was 2013 sale price. If we are going to paid for what we are getting now will cost each of us much higher price . So I'm thinking that builder are having difficulty trying to find trades who can do work with less pay after budgeting material. Many trades are getting higher pay at private build so may be builder had to wait for tradies who are willing to do job at less labour charge. ( just brainstorming my little mind) Yes we handed over our land back in 20 Oct 2016, site cut was just before Xmas 2016, Piering 11th Jan 2017. I have started to pack now. likes trimum said at least 4 to 5 weeks of work to do. We are all holding hands together to cross finish line together. Sorry ehhc just wait a few more weeks with us.
