Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Oct 06, 2016 9:44 pm Hi , we are considering elderton homes to build our home , been feeling a bit nervous after reading couple of reviews on some review boards. Can anyone share their experience, when i checked with elderton on the reviews they told me most of the reviews are true and things were bad last and they were growing very fast. Now they have hired more people etc. We are very confused coz the price and design suits us but the reviews are a bit too scary. I paid deposit to get quote and communication and pricing is not great so far. It took me 6-7 weeks to get my revised tender and their price is not less than top builders while they only have negative comments everywhere. Not sure how they are performing at the moment . Where about u r going to build? I Re: Elderton Homes 3Oct 07, 2016 8:18 am Thanks Sparkie for the reply, we are building in the schofields area. I also met James at Elara we are looking at Alton 24 with some extensions. The price estimate he provided me with the 4 pack inclusions was quite reasonable is what i felt compared to the likes of eden brae. However the reviews are quite disheartening and i even spoke to someone who wrote the review. It seems things are not sorted till date. I got same feeling and I think they still have some issues. We should some people who r dealing with them now. Couldn't find that many! Re: Elderton Homes 6Oct 08, 2016 9:33 am Griff090 Hey Guys, I'm building with EH at marsden park. Agreed they're a little slow but in terms of price and inclusions we're very happy. Happy to answer any questions you have Thanks for the feedback Griff090 thats a bit encouraging. I have sent you a pm. Re: Elderton Homes 7Nov 07, 2016 11:28 am Hi All I am considering building with Elderton but share the same concern as others around negative reviews. Has anyone gone ahead with there contract/build. Thanks Re: Elderton Homes 9Nov 22, 2016 9:07 pm I paid $1000.00 to get tender and I am glad that I lost my money to learn something. They are not good to deal with at all. If u ask them to include all descent items like good builders, their price is very close. Do not trust them at all. Re: Elderton Homes 10Nov 23, 2016 9:09 am Wow, i am glad i haven't gone through them yet. There initial estimate with all the luxury promo inclusions looked pretty good on paper but was just worried about all the negative reviews and this sort or confirms that fear. Appreciate your input. Any further details you might want to share would be great specially around the tender inclusions. Or if you dont mind sharing your tender if possible as it will help me with my comparison. Thanks Re: Elderton Homes 11Feb 12, 2017 3:13 pm Hi all, My partner and I checked out the display home in Willowdale for Elderton Homes. We liked their Acacia design, costs are 230K with standard inclusions to fit on a 300m2 block or 260K with all their added features they have in their display home. We are really happy with the cost and design as it appeared the cheapest in the display village so I decided to check out some reviews online and saw basically 75% of reviews were negative... I'm starting to consider not going with them now... Has anyone gone with them since they've "hired more staff" and have they actually gotten better in quality in terms of service, timing and costs? Anyone recommend who else to go with? We haven't bought land yet but are looking to spend 350K or less for a 280-320m2 block in Willowdale. Cheers, Shannon Re: Elderton Homes 12Feb 28, 2017 11:48 am We considered them earlier but pulled out later. I have heard too many complaints about their service and product. I also don't think they are cheap, if you put in all the inclusions some builders provide and compare it apple to Apple then it would turn out to be at par. They charged me $ 1000.00 to provide the tender. No survey done . No soil test done. Very unprofessional tender with lots of hidden notes. Paid same Money to Rawson Homes. All done and they confirmed the floor plan selected by us won't fit due to slopes. Elderton Homes just making excuse and doing jobs based on ssumptions. Never recommend them to anyone. Cheers, Shannon They hired more stuff who got redundant from other places. They are not sharp or very good in their filed. Do not rely on sales rep words. All trying to get you in for tendering and gain more star for their monthly performance. No matter what, I do recommend you to get an official tender from one of the good builders to see the difference and quality of stuff. This is what I have done. Good luck Ask for references and speak to them. If they are defensive or try to avoid the request, walk. 1 47645 I would never build with Fowler homes.
