Browse Forums Building A New House Re: New here we are building the Doulton 56 with extension 861Aug 22, 2017 8:44 pm Well the bottom frame went up. Ss rang herself hubby and told him what was happening. He said the tradies were all laughing at how much would there was. Ss manager told them it's a big one. He said it's different for them cos they don't have many this size that they did. He also said they did all of it onsite. It wasn't prefab. Funny thing is it got done on my daughters birthday. So I guess it's a day we will remember. Can't believe it took them one day to do over 33sq for the frame. Frame looks like it's going on like a speeding train. Are you having tradies onsite every day of the week? Depends on how far off the slab it is but they may need extra bolts or something to secure the frame to the slab. See what he thinks. He said it wasn't much out. But he doesn't want to chance anything. They seem to do that a lot. As I have seen a few complain about same thing. viewtopic.php?t=86597 New here we are building the Doulton 56 with extension 869Aug 26, 2017 8:31 pm I had a similar issue with the front of the frame. They bolted some timber to the side of the slab to support the frame. It's standard practices from what I was told. It won't look big from the front. I think it's just over 13 metre frontage. But inside it looks massive. It's like 28 metres long nearly. viewtopic.php?t=86597 Re: New here we are building the Doulton 56 with extension 876Aug 29, 2017 9:43 pm Looks good Doulton.
