I remember asking in our internal colour and joinery appointment the price differences between the Categories of Stone and Vinyl, 2pac etc. Not once did they refer us to the price guide. Re: New here we are building the Doulton 56 with extension 82Feb 21, 2017 11:11 pm dulie Yeah I think its different for each state. No such list exists for QLD =( That's strange why wouldn't they? It doesn't make sense. How are you meant to see the prices? You don't... pretty much just select, wait a few weeks for variation to turn up, see price, keep or re-select and repeat. It's a terrible and long drawn out of way to do things. I think they do it on purpose, so you just get fed up and just move on. I must be their worst nightmare Re: New here we are building the Doulton 56 with extension 85Feb 22, 2017 1:24 pm Hi Doulton777 I've been to the Doulton display home which is absolutely beautiful. It was a tough decision between the Bordeaux and Doulton. I love the staircase. Overall, we liked the inside colour selections more so than the Bordeaux display home in Balwyn. So we're imitating then slightly, especially the kitchen. As we haven't been provided with estimates for the kitchen yet, I'm curious whether you upgraded yours to match the display's and how much that cost? Also, we've also added 2 room extensions to the Bordeaux (we wanted a formal lounge located where the display home sales office is) but have not yet been quoted any prices, would be nice to know how much they billed you for the 2 rooms? Also loved the doulton display home tiles as the Bordeaux ones are way too expensive! Re: New here we are building the Doulton 56 with extension 86Feb 22, 2017 2:27 pm It's weird that you guys mention this. I got the Price guide Renman posted when I went to the studio M tour. It's in the showbag they give you along with what colours for bricks/bench tops/roof etc are in which category. Re: New here we are building the Doulton 56 with extension 87Feb 22, 2017 2:40 pm I was given the show bag during our tour but the price guide wasn't included. Re: New here we are building the Doulton 56 with extension 88Feb 22, 2017 3:04 pm Renman I was given the show bag during our tour but the price guide wasn't included. Yes me too. It was never in there. But my consultant gave it too me from the start. She went by that for our quotes. As for your question regarding how much they charged us. I'm not sure as it was total price for extension. But we are quiet happy with it. As it cost us $74,000 to add on another 10.5sq. I guess we just had to pay for the interior like plastering ect... where the alfresco area would have been. We also loved the Bordeaux. But overall I know we needed a larger frontage as in land wise. Plus at same time doulton was more partical and affordable with what we needed to do. But you can't go wrong if your building the Bordeaux. It's a very nice home. Re: New here we are building the Doulton 56 with extension 90Mar 03, 2017 9:28 am vuster Renman In the case of our Qasair ranghood I don't have anything else or anyone else to compared with to know the actually price. Been charged almost double for the same item (before inclusion deduction) definitely feels like we are been played. I originally had the Qasair in my joinery quote but for some reason the consultant told me to go the Sirius SL 906 L EXCEL 850. It was probably because it was a better fit for my rangehood breast. That was $1999. With my Miele appliances Metricon just charged me full retail price. So whatever price was on the Miele store which I was fine with. I know you could get them on sale after handover but I didn't want the headache. So when they charged you RRP was that including their builders margin of 30%? Or was this on top? I thought they would add their bit on top. Also I notice that some of the upgrades they don't put their 30% on it. Like for instance the sinks. I upgraded to the Pete evens 6620. They charged me the price it is online. Except the colour consultant forgot to put it in. And now I'm chasing it up. Let's see if they stick to the same price. Re: New here we are building the Doulton 56 with extension 94Mar 03, 2017 10:13 am What frustrates me is, they never do the same thing twice...we upgraded to an Oliveri sink and gave M the code and they are charging more than we could get it for through E&S or similar. D777, Did they offer you the entire range at E&S ? I'm looking at the studioM price list and its a very limited range. I didn't know anything about E&S. plus I didn't get a joinery appointment. They also booked my tile appointment for 1.5 hours. Which was today. I told my csc a couple days ago it's not long enough. So they extended the appointment which I just finished now after 5 hours. So Metricon had to pay for the double session. But I also don't know any builder that doesn't. That's where they make their money Totally agree that this is how they make money, but consistency would be great. Some people get their products at cost and others wear the builders margin...and sometimes it's on the same products.
