David's been busy getting Google to add streets & names to Cliftleigh Meadows as there wasn't even roads showing, took 6 weeks to get the roads added with no names now just got to wait on names. Re: Noosa 26 @ Cliftleigh Meadows 123Aug 06, 2017 9:28 pm Hey D & B, Just wanted to say Hi! We're building on Lot 935 Taminga Rd in Cliftleigh Meadows. Super close to you guys! We've been slightly envious watching all the other Coral builds go up around us while ours has/had been stuck in Coral admin hell. Only just had our start date tick over 2 weeks ago and our initial tender was back in August last year, bah. We're building a Manhattan 23. Just wondered if you might be able to fill me in on how exactly you guys were getting the extra conduit put in by the electrician for networking? I'm hoping to run some CAT6 or CAT6A instead of the standard Cat5e. Plus I refuse to pay the crazy amounts they wanted to charge for additional outlets (I think we were quoted something like $440 per Ethernet outlet). Stoked for you guys that the build is coming together - looks great Re: Noosa 26 @ Cliftleigh Meadows 124Aug 07, 2017 7:42 pm BradAllen Hey D & B, Just wanted to say Hi! Stoked for you guys that the build is coming together - looks great We ended up going through the electrician due to how hard coral tries to keep you off site. If you need his (Geoff) number I can PM it, need to be very specific and very detailed drawing of what you want done. Geoff was away so our job got passed on and it wasn't correct first go around. And looking back on original quote I don't think they understood exactly what was neeeded. Quoted $88inc per data point but only cat5e. (HEQ were $160/data for the same job) Due to all the regulations with data and power cable seperations and easiest way to fix what was already done, I worked out that putting the data/power points above the noggings (1.3m above floor for us) and either side of stud worked out better options. As for the network hub they didn't get that how I wanted the second go, but actually worked out better as it went diagonally across the wall through cross member and down through the cavity in the steel frame and a nogging allowed me to drill a hole directly above which will allow even more data cables in future. It will suit for now but later on I will use the cat5e to pull cat6a through. I will run extra cables through the spare hole as soon as I sort out what wireless system, leaning towards a few Ubiquiti UnIfy Pros. So in the end we didn't end up needing conduit. Re: Noosa 26 @ Cliftleigh Meadows 125Aug 07, 2017 7:46 pm Some updated photos as well. We are at a similar stage to you. Our kitchen and tiles started today and painters are due near the end of the week. Love your front door. It was one of our final choices but opted for a different one. Awesome - thanks for this. Sounds like this might be the way to go. $88 per point is much better than what I was previously quoted. I'd initially thought I might be able to get on site and do it myself, but they don't want to even let us take our daughter on site when they do the supervised walkthroughs so I doubt I've got much chance of him allowing me onsite unsupervised to pull CAT cable around - ha! Using the Cat5e as a pull through cable is a great plan. I'll chat to Geoff about it as we're going to need him to do a bunch of extra lighting installation for us anyway. So I'll make sure I do up some detailed plans for him to work from Thanks for the advice - new pics look great! Re: Noosa 26 @ Cliftleigh Meadows 128Aug 11, 2017 9:23 pm No tiling this week as initially planned, tiler pulled out so SS has to find a new one and this will affect more than just our build. Painting will still start next week. Re: Noosa 26 @ Cliftleigh Meadows 129Sep 04, 2017 6:49 pm Update time. Still painting, tiler should be working. Apparently getting driveway tomorrow even though we asked to have it removed right at the start.... yet another thing they haven't got right. It is one less thing for me to do though. Been doing a little to much shopping. Oops. Free driveway? Or you missed it from contracts by accident? Tiling looks great Building with Perry Homes - Were in!! viewtopic.php?t=84756 Re: Noosa 26 @ Cliftleigh Meadows 134Sep 15, 2017 4:21 pm Quick update. Received our final two invoices yesterday with paperwork of an expected possible handover of Oct 6. PCI walk through could be end of next week or early the week after. ATM Just waiting on tiler to finish holidays and the tiles, some more painting, door handles. House will get a clean next week, and windows treatment down with fly screens put on. PS: they also haven't done the driveway/patio section to plan only gone to edge of brick pillar and not the extra metre passed like in drawings. Re: Noosa 26 @ Cliftleigh Meadows 135Oct 03, 2017 7:08 pm Current date for PCI walk through is next Monday 9 Oct. Re: Noosa 26 @ Cliftleigh Meadows 136Oct 03, 2017 7:09 pm Wow that's great progress isn't it? Are you ahead of original build time they said? Re: Noosa 26 @ Cliftleigh Meadows 137Oct 03, 2017 7:19 pm Yes, considering it was a 30 week contract (15th Dec) was expected completion, on week 21 now. There has been plenty of delays, one case ran short on tiles and a tiler quit the week he was suppose to start, (that's almost 6 weeks of delays on its own). SS (Chris C) is pretty on top of things to fix, I noticed a substantially wet patch on the ground and hadn't thought much about it the day we got a little bit of rain, then it dawned on me yesterday that it was most likely a cracked down pipe as it ran underground to the water tank. Drove pass today to see a plumber leaving and a freshly buried dirt patch where the leak was and I hadn't spoken to SS about it.. Re: Noosa 26 @ Cliftleigh Meadows 138Oct 09, 2017 1:35 pm Walk through complete but SS won't date and sign off until floor wastes and foot rest are installed. Expected key hand over booked for 23/10 @ 1:30pm at this stage. Mostly just painting issues to fix and a little bit of cleaning up garage floor/outdoor living/and drive way. Re: Noosa 26 @ Cliftleigh Meadows 139Oct 12, 2017 7:45 pm Great news guys. Excited for you both that you'll be in soon! Nice to hear that it was only paint and some cleaning issues for your PCI - hope it'll be the same for ours, though we're still pretty far away from that. Re: Noosa 26 @ Cliftleigh Meadows 140Oct 20, 2017 4:36 pm Handover has moved up to 10am 23/10, have bank cheque in hand for final payment. Moving truck booked for sat-mon, white goods/furniture booked to deliver Tuesday. Going to be some physical effort packing/moving/and unpacking again. |
