Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Timeframe for building to commence after deposit paid 4Feb 13, 2017 9:35 pm How long is a piece of string. We signed start of October 2015 and paid 5% (already paid our $3,000 in July), Was submitted to council straight away, but then it sat at council until December, then office closed down and then rain stopped my start date. So ground wasn't broken until March. So basically 5 months from deposit and contract signing to starting. It was completed last week of September - I think it was a week off 1 year from signing. ~Shellby~ GJ Bridgewater 203 11/3/2016 - Site Work Started 29/9/2016 - Handover 142 Work Days 6 Work Days Over https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=80174 In NSW the maximum deposit for building work is 5% until the builder provides HBCF insurance 1 4821 you need to understand the breakdown of warranties. 90 warranty is considered as minor defects rectification period where as the longer ones are more major/structural… 1 5339 multiple occ properties are always billed by trades at a premium, rarely per sqm for the lot.
