Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Timeframe for building to commence after deposit paid 3Feb 13, 2017 9:13 pm Add in council approval times and just general contracts finalisation it all adds up. Can't recall our final finance date but we started the house process in May by paying deposit to builder and construction began October. Council approval was super quick though 1-2weeks max. Just delays with brokers stuff around, banks etc took its time Re: Timeframe for building to commence after deposit paid 4Feb 13, 2017 9:35 pm How long is a piece of string. We signed start of October 2015 and paid 5% (already paid our $3,000 in July), Was submitted to council straight away, but then it sat at council until December, then office closed down and then rain stopped my start date. So ground wasn't broken until March. So basically 5 months from deposit and contract signing to starting. It was completed last week of September - I think it was a week off 1 year from signing. ~Shellby~ GJ Bridgewater 203 11/3/2016 - Site Work Started 29/9/2016 - Handover 142 Work Days 6 Work Days Over https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=80174 In NSW the maximum deposit for building work is 5% until the builder provides HBCF insurance 1 4814 you need to understand the breakdown of warranties. 90 warranty is considered as minor defects rectification period where as the longer ones are more major/structural… 1 5327 multiple occ properties are always billed by trades at a premium, rarely per sqm for the lot.
