CONCRET 404Sep 25, 2017 9:25 pm Joggles It's all looking fantastic Rural! And now the driveway is nearly there too! Had to smile to myself over the slight initial miscalculation over the number of panels but what can I say, I'm an English teacher! Yeah, pretty embarrassing... must have all blended together when I was counting. And to think the solar guy was worried he was going to have to fit the panels on the western or southern roofs. ?rooves... hahaha. So much more room for more panels! Pretty relieved to see it all done. Only a few more steps to go. The next big one will be the fence over the retaining wall. Will start to brainstorm about fencing down the other side of our house as well as figuring out turf laying options. The glimpses I saw of grass were green!!! Ours is brown and feels like carpet in a cheap hooker motel!! Keys soon!!! Re: The epic home building race - DRIVEWAY DONE! 407Sep 29, 2017 11:57 am Wow Rural your killing it now. The concreting looks awesome. When is the big aircon going in? I wondered which way you come, I go through beaudesert and it's a pain in my butt, I'm going back to the coast in Sunday so I might try the Logan motorway and go in through Hope Island to my inlaws. We have our power with AGL, we have full choices here (only on a few things mind you ) get this I had to call Urban Utilities to order our water meter and pay $160 to lodge the request! How bloody rich is that. Have you received the magically unicorn date yet? Re: The epic home building race - DRIVEWAY DONE! 408Sep 29, 2017 11:58 am charlibear Looking good rural!!! Ours is brown and feels like carpet in a cheap hooker motel!! Keys soon!!! Hehe thats a bit graphic! Most of our current rental lawn is pretty yellow and dry too... Also our three family Callistemons have been living in their little pots for 8 months... itching to be planted in our front yard... (there's supposed to be a fourth but once we were starting to realise that we wouldn't plant so soon, we are gonna hold off on getting the one representing Tori until we actually have keys! ) Follow our first house build here! -> https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=86484 Re: The epic home building race - DRIVEWAY DONE! 411Sep 29, 2017 10:30 pm Tribe7 Wow Rural your killing it now. How bloody rich is that. Have you received the magically unicorn date yet? Thanks Tribe! Wow... 160$ to lodge... that's a new one. Our local council as I am coming to learn is a bit suss too... but that's other people's opinion not mine (in case anyone is scouring this forum... hehe). Otherwise... no end date yet... I really don't want to ask at this point, because it just seems pointless. We know our approximate contract date and they have some time to still make contract. We are also a bit swamped with other stressors at the moment too. We will just take it as it comes when it comes to the house! It is a bitter and unfortunate down side to our build journey... which seeing how Charlibear has got past theirs, I know we will get there! All I know is that the fencing has been ordered... and the concrete guy needs to come back to fill in more concrete to get the fence in. So when he knows he's booked, I'll know when to start getting excited! i.e. the possibility of a walk-through! That said, for all we know, they will just magically announce it next week with a nice PCI invoice in the post. I can say that our SS is not the most communicative but he lets us know when things are important and he has delivered all our specific requests without a fuss. I can accept that. We would love to have more 'updates' or 'promised dates' but in the end, a well-built and finished home that we ordered is probably the most important. Do your in-laws live in Hope Island!? jealous... haha Follow our first house build here! -> https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=86484 Re: The epic home building race - DRIVEWAY DONE! 412Sep 29, 2017 10:33 pm aloenyx Looking great Rural!! It rained over most of the week.. loving it. Our new fridge and washer was delivered the other day. Builders offered to install the plumbing for us, complimentary! Delivery guy said it was a pretty big fridge... is it bad I was thinking.. Naww not big enough! Still a wine cooler and beer fridge and chest freezer to consider getting as well! Now I'm pipe dreaming... Otherwise Big Bessie (haha) aka the AC unit was installed this week as well! (The one that just separates the front of our neighbours driveway from ours?) Thinking of putting that across the southern border for uniformity and maybe vertical growths?! What is left to do? Did your pendants get hung over your island bench?? I'm trying to pick what to hang over my dining table Mr T doesn't like my choice 🤦🏼♀️. Oh I'm hearing you about the fridge space. We currently use 2 and still need a chest freezer needless to say Coles loves me. Thanks we can't wait to move in... and I hate to tell the builders that we have the pressure of needing to pack for a Christmas trip to Canada... and also that our rental will be sold the second we move. It's good so far we haven't had any pressure from our real estate agents, even though they and the whole town (literally) expected us to be moved in by now! Fence over the retaining wall is pretty much the only hold up I can see before we can be certified to occupy... Sorry, pendants are not in because electrician has been busy. He said late last week but it came and went. What pendants are you thinking? Having freezing and fridge storage is handy in our house despite the smaller family than yours because I am the main cook in the house and being busy most days I make meals for leftovers. Wife is busy enough looking after herself and both kiddies. Can't wait to post our handover too.... haha Follow our first house build here! -> https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=86484 Re: The epic home building race - Nearly there, waiting on F 419Oct 08, 2017 1:05 am Ah.. I've forgotten completely! - need our postbox (bricked) Been too focussed on this fencing delay... That AC is ginormous!! My hubby would be impressed. Everything else looks great. So exciting that it's just a fence and letterbox to go. Gives you a bit of time to settle in before Christmas. So sweet that you do the cooking as your wife is busy. Can you give advice on how to get missing certificates needed for a form 21? Our bank requires us to provide one but we are missing 4 building certificates from our first… 3 71807 yes it does, you've just not understood it. theres a difference. 4 5322 Your house should come in "as new" condition.
