It is absolutely crap that they have facade options on their website that don't actually show what you're paying for. I should report them! On a lot of the facade pictures on our website there are trees in front of half the house so you're not sure what the actual facade would look like! My Madison 45 quote is now up to 580k. Why do you need refrig cooling for? Have you considered Evaporative cooling for $6700? We opted for refrig cooling, as we have heard evaporative cooling is not as effective. Re: Porter Davis - Madison 40 66Jun 28, 2017 11:40 am My experience with both refrigerated vs evap cooling: I had both refrig cooling in my very first house (lived in it for 6yrs back in 2000) before I got married and post marriage sold the house and had evaporative cooling in my first PD home built in 2008. It was a better experience for sure. With refrigerated cooling, you have to switch it off after an hour or so because the house gets too cold, then the temperature picks up again and you find yourself putting it back on again ..etc...And if you have little ones, they are likely to get sick because of the change in temperature With evaporative cooling, you leave it on and set the temperature to 'cool air' at say 20degrees, and leave the window or door slightly open so it pushes the hot air out and pushes the cool air in. it's a better cooling experience from my point of view. Not sure how the new refrigerated cooling are nowadays may be better but back in the year 2000 it was not a very good experience having refrigerated cooling. I opted for evaporative cooling. Thanks for this summary. We choose evaporative cooling over refrigerated. I don't like being super cold and also didn't want big bills with the running costs. - View my blog at www.waldorfgrangebuild.wordpress.com Re: Porter Davis - Madison 40 68Jun 28, 2017 2:43 pm I also opted for evaporative cooling and planned to put fans in every room and asked PD to leave noggins in the ceiling . Re: Porter Davis - Madison 40 69Jun 28, 2017 10:01 pm I thought evaporative was included, and refrig was an upgrade...but its not! Damn, thought I could save 16k...i'm only saving 10k. Ouch. It appears that the stacker door is at 2365mm high because it sits flush with the slab. I have verified all the windows around the stacker doors and they all sit at 2365mm high instead of 2400mm high. I went to see 2 PD displays over the weekend and started measuring up the stacker door and windows and they all appear to be at 2365mm high. I also went to a Carlisle display and there also the stacker door was same. My SS made sure that all windows were at the same height. Today 03/07 - I have Darbecca inspecting the frame. We have fallen in love with the traditional 5 stairs. It is such a statement piece and just makes the home look amazing on entry. My partner and I are going through our quote for Madison 40 and noticed it wasn't included. We thought to drop into WOS on Sat for an insight, we actually spent 6 hours there! There is so much to consider. Re: Porter Davis - Madison 40 80Jul 07, 2017 1:19 pm Where are they likely to give discounts? I've tried to bring things down, but all the standard items they can't change, and all the things he didn't know, fell into the "to be confirmed at tender" section.
