Browse Forums Building A New House Re: The Jeffery Pad - Coral Homes - QLD 363Jun 15, 2017 9:00 am Well a whole week with no trades or progress!! We meet the tiler early this morning seems a great guy. We have been so lucky with really friendly and professional trades thruout so far. He did mention he was told all the kitchen laundry and bathroom cabinets would be in before now. They havnt even started them which means he will have to come back later in the build. Also Titan should be starting the shed build today...the weather is not great do we will see. I dont think they are in a rush they have 28k paid and we only owe them $1200 on final payment. Needless to say its a frustrating week as we want progress but I should be happy we have done ok so far. Re: The Jeffery Pad - Coral Homes - QLD 364Jun 15, 2017 9:15 am So does cabinetry go in before tiles ? Whose your tiler - Matt? Re: The Jeffery Pad - Coral Homes - QLD 365Jun 15, 2017 9:21 am dougang287 So does cabinetry go in before tiles ? Whose your tiler - Matt? I guess it doesnt need to but it avoids the tiler having to make another trip later in the build. He likes to just knock it all over in a couple of days and complete the job for payment i guess. He gets paid for the job not for the hours and travel put in. His name is Jon but he had a tiler on site doing the work im not sure of his name Re: The Jeffery Pad - Coral Homes - QLD 368Jun 15, 2017 4:51 pm It is hard to see them. They look grey in this pic but I see they are a woodgrain. They might look better in a different light. Re: The Jeffery Pad - Coral Homes - QLD 370Jun 15, 2017 6:02 pm We wanted the long skinny timber plank tiles but coral wouldnt allow it. We even had a 7k allowance in our contract for them. This was a compromise. I love the tiles on selection day so im keen to check them out this weekend Re: The Jeffery Pad - Coral Homes - QLD 371Jun 15, 2017 6:16 pm We have got timber look tiles going in. I hope they look ok. We are getting them laid in brick-bond pattern though. Re: The Jeffery Pad - Coral Homes - QLD 372Jun 15, 2017 8:35 pm Want to feel underwhelmed then please pop over to our thread as I'm about to post some pics. We have mud everywhere after this week. Tiles look great, the look will totally change one they are grouted, you have some colour on the walls/ceilings and your cabinets are in - trust me and Emma said they look fab Re: The Jeffery Pad - Coral Homes - QLD 373Jun 15, 2017 8:46 pm Tamara1975 We have got timber look tiles going in. That they needed more tiles but our site is too boggy to get anymore in so they had to go. Hubby rang SS to see what our next steps are and should we get more rocks organised etc and the ss got really defensive straight away. Saying our shed people were driving on it (2 utes no trucks!) Hubby said it wasnt a problem (he wasnt ringing for a blame game) just wanted to know what we do now in order to get tilers back as we dont want any delays. Im annoyed that we should be able to talk about anything we need to our ss without feeling like we have ** him off. Now we are worried he will cause delays as he when hubby mentioned we just dont want delays as we are paying a lot of rent everyweek he mentioned that all he cares about if corals deadlines!!! Yikes that esculated fast. Hubby rang me confused by the ss response. He really felt he didnt say anything wrong None the less we ordered a heap of crusher dust and a bobcat to go out this afternoon. We didnt bother telling the ss! Re: The Jeffery Pad - Coral Homes - QLD 376Jun 16, 2017 7:46 pm That is a strange reaction. You might have been on the receiving end of his bad day Re: The Jeffery Pad - Coral Homes - QLD 377Jun 16, 2017 7:48 pm I forgot to ask how your tiles look. Feeling any better about them? Any more pics? Re: The Jeffery Pad - Coral Homes - QLD 378Jun 16, 2017 8:06 pm The front door was locked this morning and so i popped in the laundry door but i didn't want to step on them as they had wet grout i only got a small look but i liked them. I had the kids and a friend in the car as we were heading to the zoo so didnt take my phone in. Im keen to head out tomorrow to see the shed so i will try to get pics. I did mention the hubby he probably has every home owner down his throt for something and hes obviously stressed out Re: The Jeffery Pad - Coral Homes - QLD 380Jun 16, 2017 11:46 pm aloenyx Seems coral is feeling very defensive in general (though looking at their work... not surprised!) Glad your liking the tiles I think they look pretty good. I know we will have a few wall touch ups already and some external bricks need fixing. I hope this gets done before paint otherwise its just double handling. The bricks the ss brought to our attention so hopefully he gets onto this weeks before pci!! Thanks I think they will come up good, cant wait to see them tomorrow Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 14909 In Qld it is a requirement that a builder must have a cost breakdown, for building a home to the same specification, with the same inclusions and the same finish. So ask… 1 5012 Hi all. Anyone know when the $11,000 limit was set in legislation for renovations in QLD? Ive been renovating for 5 years now and this was the limit back then. As we know,… 0 4720 |
