I can't believe they have done nothing. I share your frustration dawn! These builders... Argh! Re: Building our forever home in Western Melbourne 25Jun 11, 2017 10:15 pm Oh no that's so bad Can't believe they have just left it there for so long. Re: Building our forever home in Western Melbourne 26Jun 13, 2017 9:03 pm That's terrible, hopefully it all kicks off again soon. Good luck! We hadn't looked at Bentley, so will definitely have a look. Quite like the look of some of their doubles. Re: Building our forever home in Western Melbourne 27Jun 13, 2017 9:06 pm I think they only build about 100 homes a year. And their floor plans are a bit different which we liked. At this point though, I wouldn't recommend them. Re: Building our forever home in Western Melbourne 29Jun 13, 2017 10:09 pm Oh ok. Well it's good to get honest feedback. So thank you. We are seriously looking at Henley at the moment. Love the look of the Emperor. Big, I know, but will be a 'forever home' as they say. https://henley.com.au/new-homes/henley- ... ror-series Re: Building our forever home in Western Melbourne 30Jun 13, 2017 10:27 pm aloenyx Sounds like my situation a little. My builder does about 50 homes a year.. and their designs were different, so I went with them. Regret it now. Dawn, you're my inspiration right now! What your builder has put you through is 100x worse that what my builder is putting me through. If you can soldier on, so can I! Re: Building our forever home in Western Melbourne 31Jun 13, 2017 10:32 pm NumbCruncher Oh ok. Well it's good to get honest feedback. So thank you. We are seriously looking at Henley at the moment. Love the look of the Emperor. Big, I know, but will be a 'forever home' as they say. https://henley.com.au/new-homes/henley- ... ror-series I struggled to find reviews on them, so messaged so other people on this forum who had built with over that past few years and they were all happy with the end result, and really that's what's important. I love big homes but my poor old husband has a ******* knee and ankle after falling down a flight of stairs 4 years ago so we needed a single story. In the almost 12 months since we bought our lot, I've noticed an increase in prices. And there are a few new estates popping up in BM so it'll be interesting to see how that affects sales/prices. Re: Building our forever home in Western Melbourne 32Jul 04, 2017 5:58 pm After 7 long weeks, the builder has finally started on our house again, and we have the beginnings of a freestanding meter box. Hooray!!! It's been such a nightmare, topped off by the builder deciding to claim time on the Contract, allowing them more time to build our house, all because of their error. We queried that and they dropped it. We have worked out that they have wasted 19% of their allowed build time on this mistake... Oops. The builder will want to get a hurry along too as we negotiated a higher weekly penalty than the standard $250. Re: Building our forever home in Western Melbourne 35Jul 04, 2017 8:23 pm It is hard to watch people build around you. In my street, I'm one of the last who will move in, by about 6-8months Its been especially hard watching so many people building through H1, some even started after me, but have moved in before me. Can't wait till its my turn for handover Re: Building our forever home in Western Melbourne 37Jul 04, 2017 10:27 pm Thank you. Full steam ahead! Re: Pre Pour Inspection - Our forever home in West Melb. 38Jul 14, 2017 7:35 pm We had Darbecca do our pre-pour inspection today and there were 11 items listed that needed attention. Is that a lot? It feels like a like a lot. Slabbed - Our forever home in West Melb. 39Jul 20, 2017 7:14 pm This certainly doesn't look good. I would be engaging with an independent inspector to have a look at this.
