Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Anyone built with Sherridon Homes, Vic? 21Mar 31, 2010 10:19 am Hey. Went to the color selection place yesterday. It's hard for me to compare Sherridon's standard range to other builders as this is my first build but I'd say on average their standard range is a lot smaller than others. But, I knew they were a budget type of builder so it was pretty much what I was expecting. I would have liked a better range of bricks to choose from. There was only 10 bricks in their standard range. We went for the dark brown "Mocha" and standard mortar color. I was pretty happy with the tiles. There weren't really any gloss tiles that were standard so we just went for a simple matt finish. We didn't get to choose the colors for the pantry doors or anything as I think on the plans it is specified to be "White Melamine". Overall, I think the standard range is very basic but I'm a bloke so I really couldn't care all that much. Cheers. Re: Anyone built with Sherridon Homes, Vic? 22Apr 09, 2010 12:25 pm Eh.. not too bad.. when I went for colour selection, I could only select 1 our of 6 choices Yes.. not much choices on gloss tiles. Basically only white and cream tiles to be selected. I guess your colors should work out fine. Besides, I just receive a call from them today. It seems that they value us as customers as they called me just to update the progress. Re: Anyone built with Sherridon Homes, Vic? 23Apr 11, 2010 7:42 pm I also signed with SH, but now I am not happy because they haven't started building since my land has been titled on 1st Feb. And I also got a call from its office on Thursday, telling me that they are very sorry for the delay but can not tell me the reason. Re: Anyone built with Sherridon Homes, Vic? 25Apr 13, 2010 9:46 am Gosh.. does it mean that it's all ****** when they promised it's only taken up to 6 weeks for construction to start. I'm expecting the site starts within 6 weeks after land settlement.. I can't afford for any more delays due to FHOG boost. My friends signed up with new construction company and their site started right after land settlement... Kinda regretted not going with them. Re: Anyone built with Sherridon Homes, Vic? 29Apr 13, 2010 5:10 pm I signed my contract by end of September 2009. I was expecting the land to be titled by January the latest.. but it wasn't the case as my settlement now is on 15/04/2010. I need to applied for extension and I haven't do so. When did you sign your building contract and when will your land be titled? Re: Anyone built with Sherridon Homes, Vic? 31Apr 16, 2010 4:31 pm I'm not sure how much is your FHOG.. Anyway, I haven't heard anything from Sherridon Homes which they promised that they will call... Maybe I was excited too early.. They probably not as responsive as what hotjac has commented... Re: Anyone built with Sherridon Homes, Vic? 33Apr 19, 2010 1:40 pm I totally lose my confidence with them, no reply, no active follow-up.... I will do the preparation for their delay, so could someone please tell me what I should do if the building cannot commence in 26 weeks? Re: Anyone built with Sherridon Homes, Vic? 36Apr 20, 2010 10:22 am OMG.. this is not an excuse at all.. Are you missing out FHOG Boost? I had applied for extension but I'm not sure whether SRO will still give me the FHOG boost as the date I applied for extension is May which doesn't seem to be achievable... But can you tell me how to apply for the extension of the FHOG Boost? Thanks. Re: Anyone built with Sherridon Homes, Vic? 38Apr 21, 2010 1:08 pm If you signed your contract in Dec, you have up to June to build your house. It should be alright i guess. In my case, I signed my building contract by end of September and I need to get my site started by March the latest. As my land is delayed, I need to apply for extension which I haven't heard anything from SRO yet. Basically, you will need to send the following information to SRO:- 1) Letter from yourself explaining the land is delayed. 2) Proof from Land developer the reason the land is delayed. 3) your building contract (page with date and signature). Don't worry, mate! We hope any afford will be worthy at the end. Re: Anyone built with Sherridon Homes, Vic? 40Apr 22, 2010 3:15 pm Hi hotjac, have you received building permit from Sherridon Homes?
