Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Anyone built with Sherridon Homes, Vic? 81Aug 29, 2013 3:02 pm hi all. i know this forum hasn't been looked at for a while - but thought i would post so people could see some more recent feedback. we are building with Sherridon - and we must say communication is very good. they have staff who will keep you in the loop - or at least contact you back if they dont know the answer. permits and approvals were done quite speedily - and site start was quick. slab down and frame up in no time. as for invoicing - yeah - we saw a bit of that in terms of the frame - i went there the day after the frame invoice - and saw it was not completed so questioned it. its no big deal - as it was completed the next day. overall their inclusions list is one of the best around at the moment - though as always if you do sign up - make sure you are crystal clear about what you think is included - cos display homes are very different to actual standard homes. that way you dont get surprises when you go to select colours, options etc..and think something should be included - but is actually an upgrade. Re: Anyone built with Sherridon Homes, Vic? 82Dec 15, 2013 6:54 pm Hi, We are also considering going with Sherridon Homes. Just wondering how your experience was during colour selection. Did they have a good range to select in terms of tiles/carpets/tapware/cabinets. Re: Anyone built with Sherridon Homes, Vic? 83Jan 03, 2014 9:49 am colombocub Hi, We are also considering going with Sherridon Homes. Just wondering how your experience was during colour selection. Did they have a good range to select in terms of tiles/carpets/tapware/cabinets. Hi colombocub. what stage are you at? have you signed up? like everyone else - they have their 'builders' range - which is what they have and can buy in bulk and include as their standard range. also -depends on what package you select when you sign up - i.e Essential or Silk. this will make a difference in terms of what you can choose from. if there are specific things you see that you like in their displays - put that in your contract first or negotiate it as included - that way when you do come to that point there is no issues. and once again - depending on your contract selection - it will determine how much time you have to select items. if you go for silk - they had a 2nd appointment for you to review things and make final changes. carpets range is pretty standard - though the upgrade comes with the underlay. tap ware - we didn't even get a chance to select anything - was told pretty much thats what you are getting. cabinets - high gloss ones are extra - so really look and decide if you want this and be prepared to pay extra. Re: Anyone built with Sherridon Homes, Vic? 84Jan 15, 2014 9:59 pm We are also building with Sherridon after some delays we finally have a slab & should have a finished frame this week. We found the selection process to be fantastic we dealt with Nikki at the gallery who was amazing I'd heard mixed reports about them having limited range we did not encounter that at all. We have upgraded to the high gloss kitchen although the price was reasonable also upgraded from the standard carpets as with most builders the standard is quite basic & as we've found out you get what you pay for with carpet so wanted something that we'd could be confident would last. Honestly the colour selection process was really enjoyable it defiantly pays to go in on a Saturday before your consultation as its open to the public & you can get an idea if what you want to make the appointment run a little more smoothly. We went middle of the range package & still got 2 appointments at the gallery & could of had a 3rd if we needed. Re: Anyone built with Sherridon Homes, Vic? 85Mar 10, 2014 8:53 pm Hi All, We are going to upgrade a carpet to better category, timber floor to bamboo, kitchen to gloss vinyl. Anyone can share how much you spent on color selection (Sherridon Homes)? Thank you, Alex Re: Anyone built with Sherridon Homes, Vic? 86Mar 30, 2014 12:00 am We walked out of the colour consult with around $14,000 put of pocket upgrades that doesn't include the $70,000 before we went to the colour consult our $14,000 included high gloss kitchen & butlers pantry upgraded tiles in both bathrooms , laundry & toilet privacy glazing to windows in bathrooms & toilets upgraded carpet to Godfrey hirst Eco plus range plus upgraded to Dunlop ultra underlay added overhead cupboards in laundry & above fridge, upgraded glass splash back to star fire glass added pot draws, upgraded garage door I think that's most of it. If you want any exact prices let me know I can look them up so we can compare overall we were pleasantly surprised how much bang we got for our buck & didn't find the upgrades to be to badly priced. Hope this helps Re: Anyone built with Sherridon Homes, Vic? 87Apr 01, 2014 9:22 am Hi Jax84, Thank you so much for info! Now we can be relief. We though it can be more expansive. We've got couple of questions. What the upgraded garage door does mean ? Did you upgrade a floor in the family/kitchen zones? We would like to upgrade a timber/laminate floor and just wondering how much it will be cost. Thank you again, Alex Jax84 We walked out of the colour consult with around $14,000 put of pocket upgrades that doesn't include the $70,000 before we went to the colour consult our $14,000 included high gloss kitchen & butlers pantry upgraded tiles in both bathrooms , laundry & toilet privacy glazing to windows in bathrooms & toilets upgraded carpet to Godfrey hirst Eco plus range plus upgraded to Dunlop ultra underlay added overhead cupboards in laundry & above fridge, upgraded glass splash back to star fire glass added pot draws, upgraded garage door I think that's most of it. We kept the standard Bolero flooring in our main living area i was dubious on how it would look & the quality of the product! It was laid last week & I'm happy to report it looks fantastic better than I imagined & the quality seems to be really good as well we also took the carpet out of the kids retreat & put the bolero flooring but other that that the timber laminate us standard not sure on costs for upgrades there sorry Re: Anyone built with Sherridon Homes, Vic? 89Apr 02, 2014 6:22 pm Thank you Jax84, I did some research and it looks like the Bolero is a good flooring material. I found that warranty is 20 years. We like a "Rustic coffee" color. Jax84 We kept the standard Bolero flooring in our main living area i was dubious on how it would look & the quality of the product! Thank you again!! Alex Re: Anyone built with Sherridon Homes, Vic? 90Apr 02, 2014 8:43 pm Oh that's great to hear! I didn't really go any research on the product we chose the rustic anthracite & it looks fantastic down! Rustic coffee is very popular. So far our experience with Sherridon has been fantastic! Right from the start our sales consultant was amazing he really went above & beyond for us. The building was slow to start but it is crazy how fast it's gone up we got a slab before Christmas it sat over the break which we were happy with then just before Australia Day they started the frame it's been Incridble how fast they moved once they started spoke with our ss this week he see's the place being finished in the next fortnight & hopefully hand over the first week of may so roughly 15-16weeks from slab being laid we are almost complete 4-5 weeks of those we're Christmas break they started the frame around 9-10 weeks ago pretty good effort in my opinion. Overall the workmanship is great we haven't had any major problems to date & we've had an independent inspector check the quality of the work at each stage. The finishes included on our home are second to none we are really happy & would defiantly recommend them I'd even contemplate building with them again big call considering this house isn't finished yet. we're building the ramsom what are you building ?
