Just looking for some advice on a decorative timber pergola that is part of the front facade of our new home.
It's made with spotted gum timber and it has been stained to match the colour of our front door.
Looks like it has been done reasonably straight and square but the finish leaves a little to be desired. To me it looks like the bolts haven't been countersunk, with the heads of the bolts not all sitting flush with the timber.
Also, I think the painters cut corners and did not properly sand and prep the timber. It also looks to me like it could do with another coat of varnish.
I brought this up with our builder, but was assured everything was up to standard. What do you think?
Any advice from builders or carpenters (or anyone else with knowledge about this sort of thing) would be much appreciated.
Thanks
