I too am at admin stage and looking at customising a Hampshire. I have thought about the 3m ceilings and looking at your photos it does look like a worthwhile upgrade. I am about to ask what is the upgrade cost? Are you able to tell me what I’d be looking at and what else needs to be upgraded. Does the price include increased heights of cabinets? Thanks and love those drone shots Thank you Stme.. in a few weeks we are looking to finish off the flooring. There's also an indirect cost to going 3M, additional cost for cabinet if you want the same look as our one, increase the internal door height, more OH&S cost due to the height, heating and cooling, additional downlights to name the house look brighter. What area are you building in and what facade will you pick? Re: My KDR Metricon Hampshire - Liberty - 45 Melb 1667May 22, 2018 7:35 am Drew01 It's surprising what differs between the display homes and plans. We decreased the size of the opening between the family and rumpus rooms at our place from 450mm to 900mm ... 450mm is just a challenge for kids to accept when chasing each other, and means you can't put a couch up against that wall... Blame the interior decorators lol! I’ve heard they come in mid build and even go so far as changing/adding new windows or even moving walls where possible. It’s not surprising then the finished product ends up different from the usual plans!! Re: My KDR Metricon Hampshire - Liberty - 45 Melb 1668May 22, 2018 7:59 am Facade is a squared off provincial and the site is in Glen Iris. Are you able to give me a break down of those extra costs so I am informed so I don’t get taken for a ride. You can pm me if you prefer. Interesting you mentioned heating and cooling. What changes did you make to take the extra height into account. Also I am using Hebel. Do you think the standard insulation is ok or did you upgrade that? What about the roof? Is it possible to insulate under the roof tiles and so that the roof space is insulated? I was also thinking about doing the flooring post handover but wasn’t sure what they do in the kitchen. Are you placing flooring under the island bench and under the kickers? Who will install the architraves? Does your flooring guy do the stairs? Are you doing the carpet post as well? Sorry for all the questions and I appreciate all the advice you can provide Thanks Re: My KDR Metricon Hampshire - Liberty - 45 Melb 1669May 22, 2018 8:38 am Dani_J Drew01 It's surprising what differs between the display homes and plans. Sorry for all the questions and I appreciate all the advice you can provide Thanks Stme Sounds like your build is going to be exactly like our own. All of your questions was addressed in our build. PM me a if you like. In regards to cost its difficult to say as it depends on the profile and paint of your cabinet, if you go with 11w or 11w or 13w led etc. Re: My KDR Metricon Hampshire - Liberty - 45 Melb 1673May 22, 2018 9:51 am shokel1975 We measured sooooo many things in our Glendale display and compared it to standard plans...... lots of things were different! What was the major stand out? A few things were different to standard.... in the display: Kitchen appliance bench is extended by 700mm (which essentially extends entire kitchen width) Island bench is extended by 300mm deep Shower in ensuite was 1550mm wide - found out that our upgraded larger shower was only 1200mm wide. Rectified now Windows in study, living, rumpus are 1800mm drop (standard is only 1500mm) We all go in understanding that there are many upgrades in fixtures/fittings, that are not included in standard, but these were a surprise to us. Thanks to this forum, I have been made aware of some of these items and ensured we upgrade - others we discovered just by comparing display to standard plans (during our many visits to the display home)! I am looking for feedback on them from others who have built with them. 0 13446 |
