There really isn't a lot of storage space in the palisade so had to make use of that otherwise wasted space. I just hope the doors are nice! Building the simonds palisade in gippsland Re: Building the Simonds Palisade in Gippsland 142Jun 07, 2017 12:22 am Your build is flying cassie! Just make sure you have studs on all those post handover projects youre planning. We planned to put some addl shelvings ang cabinetry but due to stud issues its currently on hold. Cant even put curtains on our big sliding doors as one side has electricity (as per stud finder) Building Simonds Prague Re: Building the Simonds Palisade in Gippsland 143Jun 07, 2017 10:37 pm That's a good point about the studs! Bit late for us now though haha hopefully there isn't any problems. I didn't think about curtains, we are having blinds but I did want to put some sheers over the top at some point will have to investigate. Building the simonds palisade in gippsland Re: Building the Simonds Palisade in Gippsland 144Jun 07, 2017 10:45 pm Hmm that is a bit worrying, we have our new curtains being fitted next week, I'll be gutted if they say they can't go up could have had a nice little holiday instead haha. We added studs for the tvs to be fitted on the walls for our bedroom and lounge but it's ended up being more hassle, just typical really Building the Simonds Palisade in Gippsland 145Jun 08, 2017 6:32 am Marshall5858 Hmm that is a bit worrying, we have our new curtains being fitted next week, I'll be gutted if they say they can't go up could have had a nice little holiday instead haha. Will find another way after our holiday. Hating being locked out though! Haha We were offered to keep the sink where it is, and spend the money it would cost to move it, elsewhere, but decided to move it. I don't think I could live with it right at the end. Also not sure how I feel about the bifold doors to the study nook. Will see how it looks painted. Pretty happy with the progress so far though! Just wondered why they aren't the same height as the doorway to bedrooms etc, our nook is same height Re: Building the Simonds Palisade in Gippsland 148Jun 09, 2017 7:58 pm No I didn't even think to ask about that. 🤦🏻♀️ I guess they just went standard door hight I'm really not liking it. I hope it looks better painted! I hope it looks better painted! I'm sure it'll look great once the paint has been done are your internal doors heightened or standard height? Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ This is our nook (still very bare!) you can see it's high like the entry to where bedrooms are Re: Building the Simonds Palisade in Gippsland 150Jun 10, 2017 7:34 am Nah we kept standard height internal doors. I think they would have lowered the nook to suit the bifold doors. Which I now don't like I just really wish I'd thought to keep it same hight as the entry to the bedrooms! Building the simonds palisade in gippsland Re: Building the Simonds Palisade in Gippsland 151Jun 10, 2017 8:32 am Ok, maybe that's why they chose to use standard height bifold doors? I think it'll look fine once all done Re: Building the Simonds Palisade in Gippsland 152Jun 10, 2017 9:56 am Marshall5858 Ok, maybe that's why they chose to use standard height bifold doors?
