We weren't given the option unfortunately so didn't think of it. We didn't have any problems with changes we made post gallery at our contract appointment. Everything was in the contract so hopefully you won't have any issues. We did however have an issue with the original (wrong) plan being sent to the cabinet maker so are currently getting that amended. Building the simonds palisade in gippsland Re: Building the Simonds Palisade in Gippsland 167Jun 26, 2017 10:44 pm I didn't even think about changing the pot drawers until the awesome lady helping us at gallery mentioned it. The day after gallery I emailed our CRC about the couple of changes and a couple of things we'd noticed weren't included in the documents and she said she'd sort one out and the others we could sort out at contract. That surprised me. I thought it would be better to sort them all before contract day. So I'll have to make sure we get them sorted. Oh I noticed you had some problems with your slab and frame, did they get sorted? Are you guys using a private building inspector? Re: Building the Simonds Palisade in Gippsland 168Jun 27, 2017 8:54 am Yeh the slab was rectified straight away as was the frame. We aren't using an inspector but I'm pretty confident with our supervisor and their building inspector, they have picked up any little issue and rectified it straight away. I was told that our area don't have any great private inspectors and apparently they legally can't comment on structural issues so I wasn't too fussed about it. If we were building in the suburbs however I would definitely consider it but being in a small town I feel like I'm a lot more trusting of the builder and trades. That's great it was sorted straight away. I wouldn't have a clue what to look out for so we've opted for a private building inspector. And yeah I'd probably be the same if we were in a small town. I know that they are 450x450 porceline though. We saw them in a Simonds display home of the Isis (what a name!) and just had to have them Re: Building the Simonds Palisade in Gippsland 176Jun 29, 2017 9:23 pm Haha yes very unfortunate name! Ours are 450 porcelain as well. Probably the same ones Building the simonds palisade in gippsland Re: Building the Simonds Palisade in Gippsland 178Jun 30, 2017 10:16 am Ohhh that's stunning! I think they may be a little darker than ours but look like they could be the same tile. I really hope ours look like that I'm super jealous of that drain too! Ours is a boring metal one. Ha Building the simonds palisade in gippsland Re: Building the Simonds Palisade in Gippsland 179Jun 30, 2017 10:23 am The bathroom is very dark unfortunately ☹️ I think our tiles may be Taupe but look grey. Thanks, the drains do look good and were standard so that was a bonus Re: Building the Simonds Palisade in Gippsland 180Jun 30, 2017 9:10 pm Some more photos. It's also (hopefully) not that dark in real life Building the simonds palisade in gippsland I’m curious about how you went with this.
