That's great progress. They put your appliances in quite early, my builder won't do it till handover day in case of theft. I see what you mean about shower tiling, it seems really short.. but I think its just the shower head, once the glass goes in I think it will look more balanced. All looking really good!! Your moving so quick, I think you might be in before me. Re: First timers - Smart Homes for Living in Wellard 245Jun 30, 2017 9:39 pm It's looking really good, not long now... @Madora Dreamer Re: First timers - Smart Homes for Living in Wellard 246Jul 01, 2017 12:18 am Thanks everyone aloenyx Wow! Your moving so quick, I think you might be in before me. I think you're right. We don't have tilling to the ceiling in our rental and it's never bothered me... but it's also 28 course not 30 so not as big of a gap. I think you're right it will be more balanced when the screen is in. I'm just happy with my rainfall showerhead I was surprised the appliances were in already but i guess they have insurance. I was hoping the developer would have got our fence up by now. I might drop them another email on Monday to make sure it's been scheduled. I really hope you get in to your place before us. It seema like you are so close but have been getting a but of a run around. Looks like things are going on track for PCI in a few weeks. All appliances and aircon is in. Driveway and alfresco paving is also done. Main floor tiles have been delivered and are due to go down at the start of next week and painters will be back in to finish off after that. Also noticed the garage door company had been around and measured thanks to a sticker out the front. They had us pencilled in for fence installation in August but have moved it up to next week after telling them how far along the build is. Will be happier having the fence up now the appliances are installed. Do you have plans in mind for lawn/garden/shed etc at this stage? First home builder - Brightwood Estate, Baldivis. Celebration Homes. We have a fencing package included with ours but am unsure if they will be including a side gate or charging us for them to install one or if it will be cheaper for us to do it ourselves. Follow my build here I'm hoping it will help with the planning a bit. Went around some display houses looking for ideas yesterday and only really saw one garden that I kind of liked but didn't take any pics of. At the moment looking at putting a small shed in the back corner away from the alfresco where I can house all my BBQ equipment including wood and charcoal. Possibly a vegie patch somewhere near there and some fruit trees along the back fence. I am seriously lacking a green thumb though so honestly I'm not too sure. Was thinking of putting woodchips down the side of the house although I might pave down the laundry side to the backyard... Saw a display with woodchips and spaced pavers from the laundry to the yard and it looked alright but paving seems more practical. jad33mily Hi BoB, is the fencing company including side gate(s) or is that something you have to do yourselves? I can let you know from my experience the landscaping company that does the fences charge $730 for an 820mm gate. Someone on here got one for $600 from memory. I've just got another quote from $450-$500 and that's for a 1.5m gap. They can make the gate larger or smaller - the materials stay the same regardless (smaller gate has side panels) - so same costs. Get the * app and you can request quotes easily through that. They send out for a few quotes on your behalf. I've had rapid responses so far And you can use it for crossover, paving, plumbing - whatever you need! First home builder - Brightwood Estate, Baldivis. Celebration Homes. Otherwise wood chips Or stones with stepping stones. Shed in back corner. Work out what grows in shade and have that along the northern fence First home builder - Brightwood Estate, Baldivis. I figure woodchips are cheap enough to lay down the side for now with a few pavers spaced out and just concentrate what little cash we have on the main yard for the time being. I hate any kind of gardening unless my effort is rewarded with some kind of fruit, vegetable or herb at the end of it Also need to start thinking of a letterbox for out the front! I know someone that does custom letterboxes so might hit him up... I just want my back fence done, to give some privacy... You'll have a much better feel once the fences are up. I concreted the three sides of my house through the builder for $3,500. I think it is worth it if you can afford it. It just makes it all feel neat, and provides some stability for the slab. At the moment my creativity allows a Bunnings special and that's about it I've already got a lemon and a lime tree, some herbs, and a few natives. Getting them established in large pots so they're ready to go when I move in. I think an avocado will be the other one to try and get - between those and limes, the savings at the supermarket will see me pay off the mortgage a few years early!! We have had a small plant/tree for a few years, but still never had any fruit on it though it seems to be growing well. I want to get some potted lime and lemon trees on a trellis to go down the sides of the house And definitely a little herb garden.. and I want to grow a few vegetables for my bunnies We already paid for somfy motors for the blinds.
