It could be 6 weeks because the weather is cooling and they need to make sure the waterproofing in the wet areas is dry before tiling over it but he thinks the tiling could be finished by the end of next week Wish I could take some credit for the tile selections but that was all the wife Our build thread with Smart Homes for Living in Wellard https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=86092 Re: First timers - Smart Homes for Living in Wellard 204Jun 17, 2017 6:53 pm Guess moving in is this month  Re: First timers - Smart Homes for Living in Wellard 205Jun 17, 2017 6:58 pm Bordeaux4Guest Guess moving in is this month Haha not far off! How did your tile meeting go? The tiler was great and luckily he was so thorough as there was a couple little errors in our addenda we hadn't picked up which we ironed out before they got started. The majority of the issues with the kitchen are going to be sorted except the layout of the overhead cabinets which I was basically told to suck eggs over. We went out today with our registered builder to have a look with him and going to approach them again on Monday about the issues with the cabinets and if they don't come to the party on fixing them we'll have to work out what we do next. It's a shame they're digging their heels in over something so small because everything else has been so good and the quality of all the work had been brilliant until this kitchen debacle. Fingers crossed it gets sorted quickly! If it's not something you signed off on they will need to change it back if there's no reason for it other than they stuffed up. They probably don't want to wear the cost but stand your ground. I'm envious of your laundry cabinets - so wish i could have done the same. I like the wood look laminates your partner chose. Very nice. What a pity you didn't upgrade the kitchen wall cabinets to full height or put a bulkhead above them. That gap above could prove to be a pita to keep clean. Anyhow, not too long to go now. Trust me these next few weeks will seem to really drag & then next thing you know they will be calling you to arrange a time to pick up your keys! Take this time to start researching your building & contents insurance options 'cos you'll need that in place before final payment can be made. We have a similar set up in our rental at the moment. I'll probably store the cookbooks up there I think you are right about the time dragging between now and handover bit don't think that's a bad thing. It's all gone so quick so far! That yard outside the kitchen looks huge! Haha I wish that was our yard! It's actually looking out onto the vacant block next to ours.
