At first I said not to worry as it wasn't so important but I think she felt guilty about the $500 garage door Oh and I forgot to say Bordeaux, we did end up changing the garage entry door to the entry hallway as you suggested during the pre-start meeting It does work out to be much more convenient. Re: First timers - Smart Homes for Living in Wellard 49Feb 13, 2017 2:00 pm Been a bit busy lately but the final plans were all signed off on and sent back to Smart Homes last week so now just waiting on council approval. The final plans also had all of our colour selections that I didn't really pay attention to during the meeting but now I can add them This is the main internal wall colour we have picked - Taubmans Air Stream Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The internal doors and frames will be Taubmans cotton sheets Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ This is our selection for the internal doors Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The front door colour will matched closely to Colorbond surfmist Our main front render will match up with Colorbond Paperbark while the contrast will be close to Taubmans Knight Grey Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Our garage door will be a slightly different design but this is the colour upgrade we apparently just had to have These are our main pavers in the alfresco Brikmakers Storm Cloud Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ And they will be bordered by Tundra in the same collection Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ We also got a look at our 900mm Smeg appliances that are going into the kitchen and our bathroom sink and toilet upgrades (square basins and wall faced toilets) and pretty pleased with how it should all look. (I have a habit of that too, not on purpose mind you haha). Now that you have your final everything, do you look at your selections a bit better now and question anything? We are at this stage now and I want to pay attention but it's a lot to take in lol. Nice selections from what I can see . Nice selections from what I can see . The only thing I've questioned is after signing off on all the plans someone suggested we should move the shower in the ensuite and after thinking about it if I had that suggested before we signed off on the final plans I probably would have done it but we are still happy with the layout. It pretty much matches our current ensuite in our rental minus the big double shower which is a pain to clean. It doesn't bother me enough to pay the $500 variation fee and hold up approvals As far as selections go I haven't found myself questioning any of them yet. As long as the other half is happy with the colours she's picked I'm happy I did see all of the colours during the pre-start meeting I just had no real input, I just nodded when it was all done. But the consultant did take the front sketch of our house and add all the colours in the meeting so we could see what it looked like and I was happy with it Our build thread with Smart Homes for Living in Wellard https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=86092 Re: First timers - Smart Homes for Living in Wellard 56Feb 14, 2017 10:55 am Awesome! Can't wait to see the final product. Re: First timers - Smart Homes for Living in Wellard 57Feb 15, 2017 1:33 pm Seems things are motoring along now. Got an e-mail telling us they had received Developer Approval, Engineers Approval and 6 Star Approval (Energy Efficiency Approval) Now waiting on CDC Approval which can take up to five business days then we will be able to get Shire approval which they expect will take up to 10 buisness days... so we could potentially have all approvals in place within the next three weeks! Then we move on to construction! I certainly was expecting a bit more time before things progress. Not sure if it's a good thing or bad thing as it means the loan payments will start getting larger soon too Great to hear you are getting closer to construction. Good luck with it all!
