It's official. The brickwork is done. Roof timbers to arrive early next week! Geez look at you guys go! We've only just had our ground floor roof timbers delivered and will be getting a roof late next week once the upper floor scaffolding is removed. I've been so impatient after seeing how quickly all the single storey houses were getting their roofs on! The inspector raised a couple of issues on stuff i would never have noticed looking at it but it's only about 2mm outside of compliance on most things. Have forwarded the report on to the builder anyway. And there is a slight bow in the garage wall that is 2mm outside of what is considered the standard. The folks visited last weekend and the old man didn't notice it just looking at it. The inspector hasn't recommend any remedial works to the garage. They will redo one of the garage piers which was out slightly and add more wall ties. So happy with both our inspector for picking up things that we would never have noticed and Smart Homes for communicating with the inspector and acting quickly to rectify the problems he found. Looking good. Love the outside brick colour. The WA builds always confuse me, I don't get why you have two colour bricks, inside and out.. is it because you have a double brick vs Victoria's brick veneer? The WA builds always confuse me, I don't get why you have two colour bricks, inside and out.. is it because you have a double brick vs Victoria's brick veneer? It could be. I imagine the red brick is cheaper and as it gets plastered over it doesn't really matter. Better to have the nicer bricks on the outside. It's like on the garage where the render will be the brickwork is a bit rough but it will be covered up with the render.
