Says they are right height as the measurement is from the slab not the tile... although seeing as we discussed the fridge dimensions when doing the kitchen plans it looks like the builder will move the cabinet. He said it's not a big job so shouldn't be a problem. It's only short by a couple of mm but the SS said he would get the cabinet maker to lift it a bit more to give a bit more clearance around the fridge. I think with the fridge dimensions they were initially more concerned about width than height but apparently our fridge is a bit taller than most... It works an absolute treat. The house as a whole has come up pretty impressive SB, now get that yard finished lol Re: First timers - Smart Homes for Living in Wellard 413Aug 16, 2017 10:36 pm Bordeaux4Guest You will not be disappointed with the coffee machine we have same model, we like the grinder being stand alone. Mrs Bob is a barista by trade so we have a million coffee gadgets Our build thread with Smart Homes for Living in Wellard https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=86092 Re: First timers - Smart Homes for Living in Wellard 414Aug 17, 2017 4:28 pm NBN was connected yesterday so can finally kiss free to air tv goodbye again! Also the builder is going to rectify the cabinets in the kitchen where the fridge is meant to fit. Just waiting for the cabinet maker to call me and schedule a time. Also went to hang the garage remote last night and found out the garage installer drilled the screws 45mm apart instead of 50mm apart. I'll fix it this weekend when i have the old man's drill. Down at the rental today as we finally don't have any trades coming over. Swear just as many weeds have popped back up as we ripped out last week. Follow our build with Express Two Storey (Ventura Group): http://tinyurl.com/jlykgph Looking forward to being back at work on Monday and relaxing a bit Cabinet maker can't come until next month so will have to live with the fridge being by the TV until then. Hoping to get out and explore or neighbourhood a bit next weekend and maybe finally pick a new bed to buy. Our build thread with Smart Homes for Living in Wellard https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=86092 Re: First timers - Smart Homes for Living in Wellard 417Sep 04, 2017 2:17 pm Landscape meeting is booked in for this week so hopefully we won't have sand out the front for much longer. Still haven't touched the back but really need to start turning my attention to it. At least get my shed installed so I can move all of my barbecue stuff out from the alfresco and get our outdoor setting set up properly so we can sit out the back as the weather starts to improve. Also going to use the big stack of left over pavers we have to pave outside the laundry so the rubbish bins have something other than sand to sit on. Also thinking I might pick up some more pavers and extend the alfresco paving out a metre and down the front of the bedroom sliding door to the corner of the house, this will also mean ripping up the last row of pavers in the alfresco to move the border out. Then mulch or woodchips for the rest of the empty spaces down the sides of the house. The old man did suggest just doing some loose rocks with long pavers out the front of the master bedroom and mulched garden bed either side but not sure I'm 100% sold on the idea. Also picked up a cheap colorbond vege planter from Aldi last week so the plan is to have that over near the shed, put some palmetto down along the main back portion of the yard and then some lemon and lime trees along the back fence. We also have a coffee tree that we will probably end up putting along there too. Still have lots to do. Still haven't decided on our new bedroom suite or the couch for the theatre (although we narrowed down the choices after spending the whole day walking in and out of furniture shops yesterday... my idea of torture). I also need to finish setting up my home office. Been having a lot of trouble finding a good corner desk that will go around the window. About ready to give up and just grab an average one I saw at Officeworks as the current desk and chair set up I have is killing my neck and back and I just want it sorted Once I have my desk sorted I can start looking to hang all my guitars up on the wall in the office too and start making my work space a bit less cluttered. My plan was to get rid of most of my furniture and start again but after spending Friday furniture shopping I could only decide on a couch and some light fittings. Think I might just keep my current stuff and just put up with my daughter giving me a hard time lol @Madora Dreamer Re: First timers - Smart Homes for Living in Wellard 419Sep 07, 2017 2:57 pm Yeah we still haven't made much progress in bedroom and theatre furniture. My desk and chair arrived today for the office. just need to put them together. Still not 100% sold on the desk i chose but really need to get that room sorted. Will put it together after work. Had to have a word with the builders next door today. They had been doing a bit of stuff out the front of our house which hasn't bothered me as it's still just sand and they clean up once done. But today i was working and heard someone down the side of the house so went out to investigate and one of the workers was helping himself to our garden tap. Think I gave him a bit of a fright when I asked what he was doing. Apparently just filling up water bottles which wouldn't have bothered me if they asked but it annoyed me they had decided to help themselves. Also no idea what was wrong with the tap on their site... On a brighter note... Landscaping meeting for the front is today and have no idea how that is going to go. They sent us a list of plants to pick from but given my lack of gardening knowledge and the fact the list had no pictures it may as well have been in Chinese Our build thread with Smart Homes for Living in Wellard https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=86092 We already paid for somfy motors for the blinds.
