That time frame you got all that done, we only had our plans approved through council in that time, nothing else. Things work alot faster in the West. Yeah, don't want to count my chickens before they hatch but it certainly seems to be moving quick. Council approval is the final approval we will be waiting on. Fingers crossed it goes smoothly. I think the building slump helped speed up our approvals process a bit. Not as many applications going in I guess at the moment. Final approval took 5 business days instead of the expected 10. City of Kwinana just e-mailed to say that our building application has been approved! Now waiting to hear from the builder to find out when we can expect to see some construction start Our build thread with Smart Homes for Living in Wellard https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=86092 Re: First timers - Smart Homes for Living in Wellard 68Feb 27, 2017 5:25 pm SilentBoB Seems everything is moving along quicker! Hopefully it won't be too long until we see some construction. It seems odd wanting the builder to draw more money on the loan but if we hit a certain point before 30 April NAB will give us 250,000 velocity points which could help fund flights for a delayed honeymoon once the build is done Our build thread with Smart Homes for Living in Wellard https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=86092 Re: First timers - Smart Homes for Living in Wellard 71Feb 28, 2017 11:26 am Imightbedave Good stuff Bob! I settle in a week - the race is on! I thought I was inching ahead in the race to slabdown but there's time for you to catch up. Got an e-mail today saying we had officially completed the admin and approval process and we are now in the scheduling stage. Got told it will take two weeks for this stage to be completed and then we should know when earthworks will start and the slab will go down. Really hoping we get the slab down before we fly out to Japan at the start of April, then we will be away for a month and not able to visit the site Our build thread with Smart Homes for Living in Wellard https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=86092 Re: First timers - Smart Homes for Living in Wellard 72Feb 28, 2017 11:45 am SilentBoB Imightbedave Good stuff Bob! I really don't think it would be anywhere near that though! Will be nice to come back after a month and see a heap of progress! Fingers crossed for you. Wow, hopefully it doesn't take you that long from settlement. I think things are moving pretty quickly in Perth at the moment as the builders want to keep their tradies working so hopefully there isn't much of a wait for either of us Our build thread with Smart Homes for Living in Wellard https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=86092 Re: First timers - Smart Homes for Living in Wellard 74Mar 02, 2017 3:38 pm Geez, things are really showing no sign of slowing down! It's great! Got a call today to say our scheduling period which we were told on Monday would take up to 2 weeks has now been done and we are officially in the construction phase Earthworks begin next week with the slab is scheduled to go down the following week! (weather permitting of course) Need to select a building inspector now! If i didn't have to wait for the christmas shutdown i think i would have had the keys nearly 2 mths early.
