Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Carlisle homes- near completion 2Sep 23, 2017 10:37 pm Hey Hutchie, It has been some time since you posted this. Hopefully all issues by now have been resolved. We are also thinking to go with CH. How do you rate there end to end process? In your post you mentioned they were not so quick once major payments were made, did that continue or was there a turn around? Any advice will be helpful. Cheers Harpreet Hutchie So we are building with Carlisle and are near the end of construction. So far the build has gone fairly well, a few issues here and there but our site super has been great. Customer service was bang on while we were making the larger payments but then the weekly calls stopped and email replies became rather slow. One big negative has been some of the trades used. The tiler "had to" brake into our home by breaking the locks and damaging the doors and frame on our front doors because they apparently didn't have a site key. This led to some of out lights being ripped out of our wall later that night by an intruder (as our house could not be secured). So, the next day the builders/chippie came back, nailed the doors shut internally with wood, left a sign outside the door saying not to use them, only for the tilers to return a few days later and break it open again. Further damaging the door frame and making sure the front doors would have to be replaced. Needless to say I was furious. The electricians left some amazing gouges in the paint work on a few of the doors and wall upon completing their work. Last thing I've noted is water damage to the ceiling in our living area. All due to a missing tile that should have been replaced over a month ago when it was first broken by trades. Its annoying that there is a mindset of "leave it and we will fix it all at the end" rather than fix issues as they arise so they don't become bigger later on. We should have settlement in Feb but there is plenty of work to do to fix issues before then. Our standard double-glazed window is tested to achieve, Rw 34, and can be glazed to suit Rw 39.
