My update this week was that the supervisor just had a baby so no update. I’m hoping that doesn’t mean my house is on hold til he gets back from leave (haha that sounds so selfish!!)

Re: My build in Bloomdale- Fixing stage complete! 162Mar 02, 2018 2:49 pm I received an update from my neighbour today- apparently fencing is going up not next week but the week after!! Builder advised they should have an update for me next week after not being able to give one this week I am sure there can’t be too much left to do! Re: My build in Bloomdale- Fixing stage complete! 163Mar 02, 2018 8:12 pm Second update from neighbour- my fence is up already haha. She sent me a pic: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ It looks quite short so I’m hoping it’s in the right position. I went over this evening to check the front window for carpet and it’s been installed! So have the floorboards! But I heard beeping inside and think my alarm may have been installed so I didn’t stay to take pictures as I wasn’t sure if I was going to set the alarm off carpet looks nice and I’m looking forward to getting an update next week- from what I can work out it’s only landscaping, driveway and front render painting that remains- maybe shelving in robes and pantry and probably shower screen installation. Fingers crossed not long now! Went for a drive up the street to see if I could see my fence from the road a few houses to the right of mine- this was the best I could get haha! Looks pretty good! I excitedly asked if they could give me a date yet and their response “sorry, it’s too early in your build to give a date” lol wtf. I’m feeling disappointed in that response but not much I can do. I’m pretty sure all that’s left would be driveway, landscaping, render painting. Maybe antenna installation. They told me they were still hoping to have the build completed within the timeframe on the contract- I never got an official start date but went back through my pics and found one of site cut on 1st September, added 250 days to that and got 9th May. So should be done by then I would hope! In good news, I’ve been on the lookout for bedside lamps and didn’t want to spend too much money. I contacted the place I got my pendant lights to see what globes I should buy for the pendants, then was scrolling through their site and found some nice bedside lamps for $25 each so one less thing to think about! Re: My build in Bloomdale- Nearing completion! 169Mar 14, 2018 8:32 pm Update this week was basically the same as last week- flyscreens now installed and interior clean being completed. I feel like they are really dragging their feet with getting my build finished, like the two outside houses started 2-3 months after mine and my other neighbours, yet my guess is we are all going to be finished at the same time, so not much progress on mine til the other 2 catch up. I drove past today to see if anything looking like it was happening, the temp fence was still leaning against the front of my house, so I sent the builder an email asking them to move it before it damaged the render or breaks a window. I’m really looking forward to this process being over, I am ready to move out of my parents house and start the next phase of my life but I feel like that’s not going to happen any time soon. In January I figured I’d be in by Easter no worries, now I’m highly doubting that will happen. Looking fabulous. Thanks I am hoping it looks a bit nicer once the render gets painted. I was at home sick today & saw a post on fb marketplace for 4x bar stools for $60- Lucky I wasn’t at work as it was first in best dressed & I scored the stools I’ve been looking at for a bargain. They need to be sanded & re-stained but I’m pretty happy that’s one less thing I have to worry about (though I think only 3 will fit on my island bench haha) I think I will stain them black (as I am looking to do with a coffee table and pine hutch I already have) Still waiting on the builder to send me pics of carpet and floorboards ☹️ if I don’t have any exciting news by Easter weekend I’m going to ask for another walk through so I can see all the flooring/tiling in person- I was hoping to wait til PCI but who knows when that will be! They are very similar otherwise Re: My build in Bloomdale- Nearing completion! 177Mar 18, 2018 5:35 pm So glancing over the pics last night I realised they’ve rendered above/below the front door, and based on the signed drawings I believe it should have been brick like the rest of that particular wall (same as the garage wall)- was going to try to wait til Monday to email them but it was stressing me out & I couldn’t sleep so sent them an email at 2am haha. Fingers crossed they agree there is an error as it looks a bit silly as is in my opinion: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Plans (hard to tell but I believe the rendered walls are speckled and the brick walls are brick lines) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Also got a call from the company I ordered my couch from this last week saying they were gonna start charging me storage (I could have sworn they verbally advised they could hold on to it for longer than a couple of months at no charge but whatever)- the latest they will hold it for free is the 14th April, I’ve changed the address to be delivered to my parents on the 13th but it’s annoying because we will have to set it up ourselves rather than having the delivery ppl install it. I’m kind of grumpy about it- but that’s a month away so I have a tiny tiny tiny bit of hope that I will be in the house by then so I can change it back to get delivered to the new house. Re: My build in Bloomdale- Nearing completion! 178Mar 21, 2018 11:45 am Apparently the bricks above/below the front door was a design error and it’s cement sheet instead, hence why it’s rendered. A little annoyed they didn’t mention it prior to me querying it- I wonder if I hadn’t picked it up would they have ever mentioned the difference? This weeks update- internal clean completed (this has been part of my weekly update for the last 3 weeks), caulking completed and nbn to be connected. I’m not even excited anymore when I get my weekly updates. Doesn’t feel like anything exciting is happening. Maybe when they tell me driveway and landscaping is booked I’ll be more excited- cos it will be visible from outside and will mean the end is getting closer. Re: My build in Bloomdale- Nearing completion! 179Mar 28, 2018 7:13 pm Got an update today that the NBN connection has been completed and we are waiting on the gas to be installed- once that’s done we can book in PCI!!! I emailed back asking if the render will be painted and driveway & landscaping will be done by PCI and apparently it will. So still not sure of dates but it surely won’t be too much longer. Stopped by after work and the front yard has been dug up and looks like a tap has been installed Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: My build in Bloomdale- Nearing completion! 180Mar 28, 2018 9:45 pm Melt23 Got an update today that the NBN connection has been completed and we are waiting on the gas to be installed- once that’s done we can book in PCI!!!
