Just a small hob wall to be poured tomorrow on the boundary. All seems ok - recess was put into the storage room that shouldn't be there....so a screed or tiles I'm guessing will be the fix. Will be interested to see how it all goes, this is when it gets exciting! My place is a bit of a mud pit at the moment too with all this rain, but the tradies have been cracking on with it and getting things done still. Yes looking forward to seeing how the layout comes together in the real world. Mud might be a challenge for the brickies when they start...but apparently there are 'some measures' they can put in place to make it work! Yes looking forward to seeing how the layout comes together in the real world. Mud might be a challenge for the brickies when they start...but apparently there are 'some measures' they can put in place to make it work! They put a bunch of roadbase around my place just before starting on the frame to help with the expected mud and rain and that provides approx 1m work area around the house for the brickies. its already a bit of a mess, but that small narrow pathway is way better to stand on than the rest of the block and driveway etc. I would expect they will do the same for you. Once the frame is up you start getting a good idea about what it is really like..... the master bathroom/robe was majorly changed in my design, so I only had drawings as reference and was very nervous about how it would work out. Being able to now stand in the "space" with the frame puts it all into context and I am happy. Re: Fairmont Homes - Flagstaff Hill SA 31Jul 24, 2017 9:17 pm ntonk Love your floorplan! How exciting is it to see progress?! your bricks look great Re: Fairmont Homes - Flagstaff Hill SA 37Sep 13, 2017 10:20 pm Hello hillbuilder your house is looking great 😊 I just wanted to ask you a quick question when they connected your house to the electrical mains did you at all have to get council to reinstate the footpath ? If so does this cost alot ? Re: Fairmont Homes - Flagstaff Hill SA 38Sep 14, 2017 8:54 am Amymay Hello hillbuilder your house is looking great 😊 I just wanted to ask you a quick question when they connected your house to the electrical mains did you at all have to get council to reinstate the footpath ? If so does this cost alot ? Hi Amymay! this was something I overlooked as well .....but Fairmont was pretty quick sending us a letter to say we had to reinstate the footpath after the power was installed! We got off pretty lightly. Our stobie pole is on the block side of the path and the path is made of pavers. The Electricians only had to lift two pavers to do their work and replaced them anyway. I just tidied up a bit, which I will have to do after we move in anyway as trucks have damaged the path elsewhere. Bloody buggers they must just send out automated letters to everyone because this is the second time we have had a letter in regards to extra things/costs only to see our block an absolutely nothing needs to be done..... our footpath hadn't even been touched 😣😣 But thank you hillbuilder you answered my question alot quicker than fairmont did 😂😂 I hope your build is going smoothly.
