Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Dec 24, 2016 9:05 am Good folk My wife and I are putting serious thought into a knockdown/rebuild of our IP in Brisbane. It's a terrific location, very close to Chermside Westfield, just near Burnie Brae Park. Current IP is an elevated 1950s 2 bed, 1 bath, that's seen better days. Block is just under 650m2, sloping slightly down from the curb. Zoning is low density residential (LDR). Our aim is to achieve high rental yield for next 10 years, and hopefully some capital growth. We'll be scouring this site for sage advice, but as novices we have a few threshold questions! > how can we keep build costs to a minimum (including through materials choices) while enabling an outcome that will provide high rental yield? > rough minimum spend? Noting we'd be looking at 4 + 2, probably with two levels, given sloping block. > builder recommendations? thank you and Merry Christmas!
