Same land, my neighbor's site cost only half of mine. 2. I paid to increase each bedrooms' size. When they sent me the master plan they decreased the bedroom size and therefor the total length of the house. I overlooked the change and signed the plan because I would never expect that kind of change on my signed plan. They even refused to refund me any money I paid for increased area only because I signed it. I paid to increase the area and they decrease the area 'for nothing' Re: Hickinbotham Homes in SA 794Mar 01, 2011 8:51 am easter feel terrible with hickinbotham! 1. Good luck with the sale of the package, and your own build. My mum currently owns a house at Blair Athol, but is looking at selling. That will probably be the next one to be knocked down and replaced with either one or two houses. It won't be a bad area once all the old houses are knocked down and replaced with new ones. It's so close to the city, just looks a little dated. contract signed: Nov 09 Released to Construction: 23 Jul 10 Slab poured: 9 Aug 10 Frame completed: 30 Aug 10 Windows & Gutters: 7 Sep 10 Bricks: 15 - 23 Sep 10 Roof: 24 Sep 10 Gyprock: 20 Oct 10 Lockup: 25 Oct 10 Kitchen: 27 Oct 10 Tiling: 6 - 9 Nov 10 Painting: 17 Nov 10 Carpet: 30 Nov 10 PCI: 15 Dec 10 Handover: 17 Dec 10 https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=35943 Re: Hickinbotham Homes in SA 797Mar 01, 2011 11:41 am Cooped07 How are the Squids and bobbaloochies going? We are still alive!! All in. Trying to unpack. God moving is terrible. I never want to move again!! Love the new house!! It looks even bigger now the furniture is in. Maybe a little too big for the two of us...... Nah!! It's great ! Re: Hickinbotham Homes in SA 798Mar 01, 2011 12:32 pm I'm glad you survived the move and are loving your house. Once you've got a few little Squids running around, it won't feel so big. contract signed: Nov 09 Released to Construction: 23 Jul 10 Slab poured: 9 Aug 10 Frame completed: 30 Aug 10 Windows & Gutters: 7 Sep 10 Bricks: 15 - 23 Sep 10 Roof: 24 Sep 10 Gyprock: 20 Oct 10 Lockup: 25 Oct 10 Kitchen: 27 Oct 10 Tiling: 6 - 9 Nov 10 Painting: 17 Nov 10 Carpet: 30 Nov 10 PCI: 15 Dec 10 Handover: 17 Dec 10 https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=35943 Re: Hickinbotham Homes in SA 799Mar 01, 2011 4:04 pm carlswil Could they explain why your neighbour's site cost was half of yours? How far have you got with the process, could you cancel the contract and go with someone else (and forgo your deposit) Thanks a lot for your reply! They said my footing is very deep because of the reactive soil. It was true but my neighbour's is a double storey and it has to meet some spec to get an approval. They had wasted me more half year time then. I was a bit desperate to have my house erected. So I signed the footing cost variation. Don't laugh at me. I only find they stuffed up the plan when I moved in. I put in some furnature, felt weird, measured the room, check the plan and found the problem.
