Browse Forums Building A New House Re: KDR with Fairmont Homes 21Mar 08, 2017 8:06 pm Congratulations, love the plan (especially the pantry/garage set up) and colour selections choices! Re: KDR with Fairmont Homes 22Apr 14, 2017 9:56 pm Hi Holly, How is the build going? We just had our selections with Fairmont so I'm excited to see other Fairmont builds come together 😀 Re: KDR with Fairmont Homes 25Apr 18, 2017 2:22 pm Hi Holly, We went with whites, greys and light warm timbers. We love it! I can't wait to see it all come together - we have been obsessing over it for so long! Congratulations on a 3D house! You must be super excited to be able to walk through and get a feel of the space 😀 Re: KDR with Fairmont Homes 26Apr 18, 2017 2:31 pm Oh - I forgot to mention, I love the idea of the ensuite niche in the nib wall. Very clever 😀 And we used the same bathroom inspiration photo, so I can't wait to see yours come together! Re: KDR with Fairmont Homes 34May 11, 2017 8:23 pm Hi Hollywolly,
House is looking great! We are keenly following your build as looking at doing something similar. I was wondering if you wouldn't mind letting me know how much you were estimated for footings, and the actual cost? And how deep were they? Can't wait to see your progress. Thanks Re: KDR with Fairmont Homes 35May 11, 2017 8:35 pm Hi, How exciting for you! Have you decided on your floorplan? We just got standard depth footings which i have no idea what it is, sorry. We were estimated $28,000 for footings and cried when it came in at $39,000. We knew a KDR meant more expensive footings but ouch!! We did have a 15m palmtree which may have impacted it too. Our block also slopes down about 1m. I hope that helps Re: KDR with Fairmont Homes 36May 11, 2017 8:59 pm Thanks so much for that, We have had estimates for around $28-40k for footings, so i guess we should really expect worst case scenario and budget for $40k. We also have a gentle slope of around 1m and a few palms to get rid of.. haha!! but not 15m ones! hehe. We haven't got our floor plan 100% finalized as still waiting for quotes to be adjusted. How has everything been with fairmont? they are one of our options. Re: KDR with Fairmont Homes 37May 11, 2017 9:03 pm Those figures sound spot on! We have been so so happy with fairmont. Nothing at all to complain about. This is our 2nd build with them. Enjoy choosing! The planning is by far the most exciting Re: KDR with Fairmont Homes 38May 11, 2017 9:38 pm Ahh thats really good to hear, we are soo over the planning now as its been a few years!! But needed to wait till we had more money. Now we just need to just take the big plunge to knockdown and rebuild and fingers crossed our suburb will continue to develop. Dragging our 3 year old and 11 month old to display homes and talking to sales people isn't much fun anymore.. But we are pro's now at whats included and what is not. LOL. Re: KDR with Fairmont Homes 40May 15, 2017 8:31 pm Can totally relate! We had a 1 and 2 year old when we were looking. They should definitely start putting some toys in the backyards for kids to play whilst the parents have a look 😆 Hi, I am looking into doing a KDR in Melbourne and am contemplating using Kialla Homes. I am looking for feedback on them from others who have built with them. 0 13444 We were lucky in that our old house was so small (86 square metres) compared to the new house, they were able to take enough readings around the old backyard house before… 8 37143 |
