Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Anyone building in Plenty Gorge Views estate, South Mor 102Oct 18, 2017 4:43 pm That's very disappointing. Surely, this could be managed so that we wouldn't face this. Anyway, thanks to Alyshia, we at least have a more realistic picture of the situation, rather false hopes. One thing we can do to expedite building process is the soil test. The soil test by our builder may take 4 weeks which can be done parallely, and i think 4 weeks before title of the land should be enough. Re: Anyone building in Plenty Gorge Views estate, South Mor 104Oct 26, 2017 12:57 pm Hey, Last update I had was that it’s still too wet to do the asphalt. And they’re hoping the substation will be here mid/late November. I doubt we’ll hear anything until early November These are photos from yesterday Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Anyone building in Plenty Gorge Views estate, South Mor 105Oct 28, 2017 2:46 pm Hi everyone Looks like nothing has been done on the ground from last few weeks. To do list is still same from last few weeks and looks like a lot to do. Soil needs to be done Extra dirt needs to be moved All street signs are not installed yet Concrete patch is still not done Asphalt is not even stated Sub station is also long way And nothing is tested yet. I guess all we need is to be bit serious about the matter, as developers and builders keeps lie to us all the time. I guess we need to call current affair and show them all the mails and make them famous, so they can’t lie any one else. This means that everything should be finished by end of November. With the asphalt I can somewhat understand that they would require it to be dry weather for a week prior and the week of laying. I’d rather it be done right then rushed and no point in rushing now when they don’t even have the sub station in order to complete the development. Honestly I’m just as angry as everyone else, I thought I’d be almost in our new house by now and financially planned for that. Our land contracts state the developer has two years to complete he site and I do think going to media would only halt works not push them. I know moremac has been trying to use their connections to source information about these sub stations to see if what they have been told is correct. Hopefully they maybe able to source one from their connections if we push them hard enough Re: Anyone building in Plenty Gorge Views estate, South Mor 107Oct 28, 2017 3:43 pm Hi guys Is that information about titles being done by January actually accurate though? Or more BS? If that’s the case the works should start March. We too had thought that we would almost be in our new house and have financially planned for that. I too think that going to media would delay the works more. Re: Anyone building in Plenty Gorge Views estate, South Mor 108Oct 28, 2017 3:48 pm The only reason why it think that timeline might be more accurate was that it was their solicitors advising it which may mean they have had to step in. After all I’m guessing the couple the sold the site want their money and planned on having it by now too Re: Anyone building in Plenty Gorge Views estate, South Mor 110Oct 31, 2017 7:45 am Hi Alysha, Was that your solicitor who contacted them or they themselves contacted your solicitor. Because I suppose they should inform everyone's solicitor if this is the exact timeline for settlement. Re: Anyone building in Plenty Gorge Views estate, South Mor 111Oct 31, 2017 8:07 am Hi, I got an email from my solicitor that was a forwarded email from the land owners solicitor. It may have been that I was telling my conveyancer how annoyed I was and I had told them several different dates so she may have tried to find out some more info. Re: Anyone building in Plenty Gorge Views estate, South Mor 114Nov 09, 2017 8:12 am Hi everyone just got this email from David ...Email on Monday was that they indicated that they intend to proceed this week. Yesterday was an Industry RDO. I did see an email yesterday that they were going to inspect the surface this morning - as there was some concern about the moisture remaining in the base. There is a scheduled site meeting today - so I will see what transpires. Re: Anyone building in Plenty Gorge Views estate, South Mor 115Nov 09, 2017 8:41 am Hopefully with the week of dry weather ahead they will be able lay the asphalt next week. I was not surprised at all that nothing had been done thus far as this crazy melbourne weather has been far to wet. I’m sick of the inconsistent updates, why wasn’t this update sent to everyone? I’m still more concerned with this sub station issue. Even if the asphalt get laid nothing can be finished if they don’t have this sub station to install. Re: Anyone building in Plenty Gorge Views estate, South Mor 117Nov 13, 2017 3:13 pm Hi everyone so on Friday I asked for an update from David re:what is happening he said they had a site meeting on Thursday and as per the contractor the asphalt works where starting on Friday... this however was not the case nothing was done Friday been out today too see if the asphalt works where commenced today and nothing again has been done dosent even look like anyone was there today Re: Anyone building in Plenty Gorge Views estate, South Mor 118Nov 14, 2017 9:53 am Hey everyone. Just got an update. And it’s semi positive! Moremac has used their own connections to source a sub station earlier so this should no longer be an issue. They are also extremely fed up with the BS about asphalting works and have officially put the contractors on notice. So if the contractor does not make resonable attempts to finish site works they can remove those works from the contract and have other contractors finish it sooner. This is progress!! The only down side is there’s rain forecast for the next few days so I’m guessing that will be an excuse not to start if they haven’t started already Re: Anyone building in Plenty Gorge Views estate, South Mor 120Nov 15, 2017 11:16 am Hey guys, Went out to site this morning. Not a soul in sight. It does however look like some of the excess soil has started to be removed. Highly doubt anything will get done now as it is supposed to rain in the next few days.
