Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 04, 2016 9:42 pm Just starting a new thread after moving on from A different builder.
We have chosen to build the Glenaire with Marine Facade which is standard. With our changes it is 41.3 squares. Here are the plans, we haven't made many changes apart from adding a 2m garage extension and some sliding doors to the study and theatre. Also added a carpeted platform in the theatre room. And extended the island bench and turned it to the side as per the display. Upgraded front door to pivot door as per the Werribee display We've paid our deposit and will be completing the sales paperwork this weekend. Keen to get things moving ASAP. These are the plans Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ We signed up with a promotion that includes Evaporative cooling Stained hardwood staircase Flooring including timber laminate or tiles (we are choosing tiles). Re: Building Glenaire with Fairhaven Homes 2Jul 05, 2016 6:45 am Congratulations whitefresh - hope your build goes smoothly. What length is your theatre room? I think the rule of thumb is viewing distance is 1.5 x screen size. We've got a 5m room (no step up) and should be able to run 120 inch screen with projector. Re: Building Glenaire with Fairhaven Homes 10Jul 17, 2016 8:02 pm A nice flat block - wish we had one of those. Re: Building Glenaire with Fairhaven Homes 14Aug 03, 2016 10:03 am I'm thinking of using the same brick as you actually lol. Did you see it in person? Was it on the Franklin at Waterford Rise? I did have my mind set on using Austral Praline with white windows and a surfmist roof but I'm thinking it might look a bit washed out. I'm thinking Truffle Brick, I definitely want a light roof, maybe surfmist, a greigey type of render. Not sure on windows yet, maybe surfmist or dune. Not sure on garage door and front door yet, I've been driving around trying to find a house to copy but haven't found one yet. So hard choosing colours. Re: Building Glenaire with Fairhaven Homes 15Aug 03, 2016 10:03 am Kat do you know how much it was to upgrade to timber look garage door by any chance? Re: Building Glenaire with Fairhaven Homes 16Aug 03, 2016 10:45 am We went the oversized truffle as it was cat 3 and the normal one was cat 7. We went and looked at the display and took some photos and I actually love it. They used surfmist Windows and sliding door and Apache stone weatherboard Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ From memory the wood look garage door was around the $450 mark! Re: Building Glenaire with Fairhaven Homes 17Aug 03, 2016 1:22 pm They look good with the surfmist, Apache stone looks like it matches in nicely, I found a pic online with Apache stone render $450, that seems quite reasonable, I was thinking just over $1000. FH seem good with their upgrade costs compared to M, I'm glad we changed. Did you get any addresses from Austral with the truffle brick? I emailed them a few weeks ago and haven't had a response. I took some screenshots of the video of the display at Waterford ride to see the bricks.
