After getting our Footings Report back, I belatedly submitted the compaction certificate for our block, which ended up knocking 5k off the footings. Whoever heard of footings being less than quoted ? lol Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Kitchen Cupboards - Polar White in Silk Finish Benchtop - Polar White Diamond Gloss Laminate with Acrylic Edge Also upgraded the benchtop to shadowline benchtop Splashback - Window splashback Bathrooms Cupboards - Sarum Grey in Matte Finish Benchtop - Polar White Diamond Gloss Laminate with Acrylic Edge Wall tiles - White Gloss Floor Tiles - Matte Charcoal Feature Wall - Infinity White Herringbone floor to ceiling Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Upgrades Timber feature door Modern door handle Tiled to the ensuite ceiling Wall back toilet Rain shower head to ensuite Modern toilet roll holder Semi Frameless shower screen Modern Bathroom Taps Mirrored Built in Robes Undermount Kitchen Sink 90cm Westinghouse gas cooktop 90cm Westinghouse oven 90cm Westinghouse hidden rangehood Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Building in Springlake Mount Barker SA Re: Project Sicily / Building in Springlake Mt Barker SA 27Jul 06, 2017 7:02 pm Gorgeous selections! What have you chosen for externals? Good news on the footings! Ours ended up being a few grand less than expected, so it happens - but seemingly very rarely! Maybe Springlake just has a lot of luck for us all!! Re: Project Sicily / Building in Springlake Mt Barker SA 28Jul 06, 2017 7:03 pm Congratulations! And awesome having a big return on the footings! Ours was also reduced but not that much. I love all your selections. Cannot wait to see you start your journey. I havn't settled on the externals yet, i wont need to confirm for a few more weeks. It all depends how much it all costs to upgrade $$ Building in Springlake Mount Barker SA Re: Project Sicily / Building in Springlake Mt Barker SA 30Jul 07, 2017 7:13 pm eliszia Congratulations! Metricon Glendale 34 Modified Thankyou! Its so cool to be following builds happening in Springlake, especially the big droolworthy ones like your Glendale & JM's Harcrest Im renting just around the corner, and the Springlake entrance lake is crazy nice at sunset when all the lighting around the lake comes on. I keep forgetting to take a photo.. Building in Springlake Mount Barker SA Re: Project Sicily / Building in Springlake Mt Barker SA 32Jul 07, 2017 7:38 pm Oh my gosh you definitely need to get a photo of the sunset lights sometime! I'm sure it is completely insta-worthy. (Might have to talk to you about being a spy if we get worried at any point! I'm planning on buttering up my tradies with some homemade biscuits whenever I happen to have a day off to visit/see what's up.) If you can get the dark brick with dark mortar you were thinking, I think that could look absolutely beautiful with the front facade choices of that design. Be very modern but classy. Definitely comes down to the dollar-dollar-bills-ya'll. We just had a big-post contract splurge upgrading the butlers to have an extra turn around (exactly like the bottom cabinets and tiles in the Harcrest display at Aston Hills - though no stone benchtops (I talked the OH down from it, sadly)) and a massive 2340 x 1200 pivot door which I cannot wait to see in person. And then cried in the corner about the $$. But hey, you only build a forever-home once (hopefully)! Re: Project Sicily / Building in Springlake Mt Barker SA 33Jul 09, 2017 8:07 pm Congrats and your selections all look beautiful look forward to see it all coming together! Trying my best to make such a small house look nice baha  JM1911A1 Haha love the biscuit idea! Wow that is one HUGE door. Im crying with you lol. It set me back over $1400 for a nice normal sized timber door - I cant imagine how much yours costs! Soo.. I ended up doing a complete 180 with the facade colours.. Part of the encumbrance is I need timber slats over the portico, and Fairmont only have an orange cedar colour which looked sincerely terrible next to the Cobalt brick. Plus the surprise that charcoal OR white mortar upgrade was $1000+ I ended up with... We were looking at Plateau if we weren't doing Castilo ourselves - such a nice brown brick, very rich in colour and looks GREAT with the wood tone! Re: Project Sicily / Building in Springlake Mt Barker SA 36Nov 17, 2017 6:57 pm ITS FINALLY STARTING! .... and then I get a call that I need to complete retaining walls before they can proceed any further.
